"steak, broccoli, and haricot vert" or "clearance!"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up and watched some TURN and then we decided to go out to Target to check out the Christmas clearance! I was really hoping for 90% off but they're only at 60% for most things and 70% for wrapping paper!

I did get a few good finds and some wrapping paper. Next, we went to Price Club to get some food for tonight's dinner. Shawn and Caitlin were coming over and we wanted to get steaks to make on the grill. While we were there we got some other things we needed AND we ordered a sheet cake for tomorrow night's New Year's Eve at Mikey and Theresa's! It's so wild. We wanted to get the special order cake with the different icing inside so we couldn't just buy one of the ones on display.

Next up we went to Bottle Bargains in Northport to get some alc. We went in with one specific thing we needed and we left with much more. There was a woman giving free samples of Brooklyn Gin and, although I didn't really have an interest in trying it, she made this cocktail for Dan called "The Bee's Knees" and I took a sip. It was REALLY good and we wound up buying her $42 bottle of gin! We also had to stop on the way home because one of the ingredients is honey and we thought we didn't have any at home (we did.)

While I was waiting in the car for Dan to get the honey at the store, some guy walked past the car and like fell into it and slammed into the driver's side mirror! I have no idea how that happened. He was a real fool! No damage, though.

We got home around 4:00 and tried to clean up a little around the house. Shawn and Caitlin arrived around 5:45 and we hung out, talked for a while, had some drinks, and then Dan grilled up the steaks. We made the veggies, broccoli and string beans (I insisted that we refer to them as haricot vert all night to sound classier!) Those were from the supermarket sweep/refrigerator clearout at work!

Anyway, it all came out really good and we had a great meal. We ate all of the food but it was the perfect amount. There wasn't a thing left over but I don't think anyone was looking for more. At least I hope not!

We attempted some Song Pop Party but it crapped out again and then Shawn and Caitlin had to leave around 9:30! We expected they would be here longer and had planned to make cookies for dessert and stuff, but after they left I took a shower and then Dan and I did some HOLLA.

We're gonna watch TURN and then get to sleep! Until tomorrow...
