"merry christmas" or "petula clark"

Hey Journal!

Merry Christmas!

This morning Dan and I got up and looked to see what Santa had brought for us. Of course, he had overlooked us. Since we didn't get anything for eachother, there was nothing to open. We did, however, have a nice morning relaxing and watching TV.

We watched a couple of episodes of TURN and then I finished wrapping the presents that we needed to bring with us today. We were supposed to be there at 1 and it was about 10 minutes before. We got everything together and were about to leave when we realized we had forgotten to make the StoveTop. Luckily, StoveTop is pretty quick so we boiled some water, threw in butter, and then VOILA. Stuffing! We put it into our Fiestaware dish and headed out!

We arrived around 1:15 and were the first to arrive. Dan's Grandma was just pulling up as well. Brian and Jessica came a little bit after that and then my mom arrived around 1:45 or so. We opened our presents and then Dan's uncle came as we were just finishing up with that.

We introduced them to Store Life and it was a real hit. The store wasn't as busy as it was in the night time but we did see a whole family eating chicken off the carcass at the register!

Dinner was good, we had turkey and I had mashed potatoes, stuffing, and corn with it! It was a good meal!

Later on we played Left, Right, Center. We had gotten a giant version of the game for Brian and Jessica and we gave it a go at the kitchen table. We had to put down something soft to roll the dice on but it was pretty cool. I think it made the game more exciting because it was easier for everyone to see what was rolled. We also were able to roll all the dice at the same time or one at a time. I kinda liked the one at a time because it gave a little more intensity to each turn.

I won the second round but we weren't playing for real money! Just for little foam discs!

We left a little before 8:00 and headed home. We were both really tired and it felt so much later than it actually was. We showered up and then when I got downstairs, Dan was watching a show about the life of Petula Clark. Now, I am a fan of many of her songs, but it had never crossed my mind before to see if she wa still performing. She's 85 and I decided to search her name in StubHub. Sure enough, she had only ONE upcoming show and it was scheduled for TOMORROW in New York City!

Dan and I quickly contemplated the idea of going and then bought the tickets. We were originally going to buy them on Stub Hub but then found them for only $38 each on SeatGeek! What a deal!

We watched some TURN and now it's time to get to sleep! It's weird that we have work in the morning. It totally doesn't feel like it. We're planning to leave work around 3:00 in the afternoon and we aren't sure if we are going to drive in or take the train! We're going to see how the traffic is at the time we're leaving.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
