"innkeeper #1 & #2" or "pink ham" or "christmas eve"

Hey Journal!

Merry Christmas Eve! I can't believe that Christmas Day is already upon us! It feels like the Christmas season just started and now it's almost over. It's okay, I plan to leave our Christmas decorations up until mid-January and now with our fake tree, we don't have any rush. I guess that can be a good thing or a bad thing!

So, today was a little but of a crazy day because we had stuff to finish up and a pretty strict time table to follow! We got up and watched a little TV before getting to it. At 11:45 we went to Target and did some shopping. We needed to find one more gift for Cameron and also get some gift cards for tomorrow.

They didn't have what we wanted for Cameron so we went to mall. Our first stop there was to get a fillet glove for Dan's dad at Dick's Sporting Goods. We searched the aisles frantically and couldn't find one. We were getting frustrated so Dan asked an employee who said they didn't have many left and he couldn't find them either. I looked to my right and saw one glove randomly sitting on a rack with no tag. It was weird. We asked the manager of the department and he said he would sell it to us for half price. However, he looked up the wrong product because he charged us only $2 for it! It was supposed to be 14.99 originally! Good sale!

Then we hurried over to the new comic store in the mall and got Cameron the Barb and Eleven Stranger Things figurines!

We got to my Grandma's house at 1:00 and we exchanged gifts with her since we won't be seeing them tonight or tomorrow. I would have liked to have spent Christmas Eve with them but my Aunt cancelled hosting and then nothing was really going on. We had decided to go to Linda's because we had fun there last year and I really want do see Connor and Cameron in the nativity.

Shortly after we arrived and did our gifts, Uncle Thomas and Alexis arrived. We hung out with them for a while and then my Grandma made lunch. I didn't have much -- just a slice of turkey.

We got home around 2:30 and watched some TURN. After that I made some sugar cookies to bring with us tonight and before we knew it, we looked up and realized we had to get on the road! We left here around 4:00 and had to make a quick stop at Target to get a new memory card for my camera. The old one didn't write fast enough to support recording videos! Ugh. While I got that, Dan went to get stuffing because we need to make it tomorrow for Dan's parents. We forgot to get it this morning!

We bumped into Kristen and Guy there who were getting some last minute gifts for people who were coming over tonight and we hurried together to the self checkouts and then said a quick goodbye before bolting to our respective cars!

We got to the church at 4:41 and headed inside. Linda wasn't' there yet....she arrived a little closer to 5 and we say with her mom and dad and saved the rest of the pew.

I like going to church on Christmas Eve... it's a nice service and it really puts you in the Christmas spirit. Connor and Cameron were both in the play and Connor was Innkeeper 1 and 2. The real difference between them was that one had a vest and one didn't. After saying his one line as #1, he took the vest off, stuffed it into his pocket and said another line as #2. Not sure that anyone really figured out what was going on, though.

Cameron was a roman soldier and she had a few lines and sang a song, too.

It was cool. Afterwards we headed back to Linda's for pink ham and festivities.

I played some Mario Kart with Connor and unfortunately, he beat me every time! After that, I brought out the presents for him and Cameron. They were surprised that there were more than one for each of them!

Cameron liked the Barb/Eleven figures and she really loved the$ hoodie from Target with the zip-open mouth of a dog!

Connor liked his stuff- we gave him a Rube Goldberg kit, a hoodie, and the Nintendo card game that he so desperately wanted! He was super excited about that and shortly after, we went down to the basement to play it. It took us a few turns to figure out the correct way to play because the instructions go into super detail about some things and completely gloss over other things. It was actually really fun, though!

We played until it was time to have dinner! Linda called us up and we found our places at the table! I had ham, mashed potatoes, and corn! Our dinner activity was singing all Christmas songs by replacing all words with ham. Connor added the twist of finishing with the word beef! It was really funny.

When dinner was over we resumed our card game and then we hung out brick everyone else departed. Connor was tracking Santa via Google and he put his pajamas on before everyone left because he needed to be ready for Santa! Dan and I were the last to leave and Linda and Dan also put on their matching PJs on and Dan took photos of them all.

It turned into an all-out photo shoot and he got some great shots. Linda said we should have done this sooner so she could have used them for her Christmas card!

We left around 11:30 and Connor and Cameron were so eager to go to bed! It was crazy!

We got home around 12:25 and we showered up an watched an episode of TURN!

Now it's time to get to bed! Christmas Day is upon us!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight! :)
