"dan's foot surgery" or "mobility scooter"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan got up bright and early to go see the podiatrist for his foot. I had gotten the appointment for him with the Podiatrist that my Grandma goes to. He left home around 8:00 and his appointment was at 8:30.

He said that the podiatrist looked at his food and said it was infected. They gave him a local anesthetic and then, after letting it work for about 15 minutes, the doctor came back with a big scalpel and cut open the bottom of his foot to let the pus out! He said he got 2cc of pus which, apparently, is a lot!

Dan said it felt much better after but, also, it was still numb.

At 10:00, we had plans to go out for a birthday breakfast with Jen B, Re, Lau, and Ryan! Dan had expected to be home well in advance but the doctor's appointment went longer than expected so we had to meet there.

When I arrived, Jen B, Lau, and Ryan were already there. JC came shortly after, followed by Dan and then Re.

They asked us if we wanted to sit at two separate tables and we said we'd rather wait for one table. It was a nice morning out so we thought it might be nice to eat outside. I requested the outside, and the girl said she would have some tables moved together. By the time the guys went out to move the tables, it was POURING out! It was torrential! It's a good thing we didn't get stuck out there!

We had to wait a little longer now since she had seated some people after we decided to go outside, but it wasn't bad. I was actually happy with the table we got, I thought we were all able to talk and it was a good size!

Breakfast was good, and we all had a nice time! It was great getting together with everyone. I said we should do breakfast more often because it seems like it's easier to get everything together for breakfast even when everyone is busy and has things to do the rest of the day!

When we left, I drove Jen B over to her car because it was still raining out and she had parked in a different parking lot a little further away!

Immediately following that, Dan and I drove home and then Dan got into my car and we went to CVS to get his medicine. The doctor had prescribed him two antibiotics. One pill, and one cream. We usually get our prescriptions at Target but they didn't have the cream. Instead, we went to the CVS and asked if they had it. They did, and so we also asked them to transfer the other prescription over so that we could get both at the same time.

In the afternoon, we had plans to go out to lunch with my Grandma and Grandpa for my birthday. However, my mom texted me to tell me that my Grandma had to go to the hospital last night because she had really high blood pressure. They went to the hospital around 11pm and didn't get home until 5ish. As a result, we postpone the dinner until next weekend, and after we finished at CVS we went over to say hello.

My Grandma was feeling better but she still had high blood pressure. The doctors really didn't really find any explanation for why this happened. I forgot to mention that my Grandma had fallen earlier in the day, kinda tripped while walking up the step from the family room to the hallway. She was fine, though...didn't hit her head and nothing was broken or anything. But there was still no explanation for the blood pressure thing.

So, we hung out there for a while and then went to Target because I needed to redeem another Ibotta rebate today and also we needed to get some gauze for Dan's foot. Since Dan wasn't able to walk around the store, he took the electric cart! He was a little reluctant at first but later said that it really was good and he didn't think he could have walked all around.

We got the stuff we needed to buy and I also made a point to record some great video of him going around the store in the mobility scooter cart. Amazing.

When we got home around 3:00 and we took the bandage off Dan's foot and applied the cream. We wrapped it back up after that.

We didn't go out the rest of the day because Dan wanted to take it easy and stay off his foot. We watched a bunch of TV shows we had to catch up on like HTGAWM, Designated Survivor, Marvel's Inhumans (new one), The Good Doctor (also new), and some Judge Judys.

Now it's time for bed! I think we're going to hang around for the rest of the weekend and try to take it easy on Dan's foot! No real plans.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
