"a day with re" or "desperate housewives season finale" or "voltage adapter"

Hey Journal!

Just three more days of work, and then we're off!! I hope it goes by fast. Oh, and I really really hope that no volcanic issues interfere with our flight. I have been hearing there have been problems with that again, and I would be so so upset. :(

We got up this morning at about 9:00, and we got ready to meet Dan's parents at iHop for breakfast at 9:30. We arrived, and surprisingly it wasn't crowded at all. No wait, really. Usually there's a line out the door!

We had a nice breakfast... I had pancakes and eggs! How original!

After breakfast, we went to the mall, and arrived around 10:30... before it opened at 11:00. We walked around, and it was nice being there with all the stores closed. We were walking down towards Sears when Dan said, "Look.. It's your grandma." He says this quite often whenever he sees someone he thinks even slightly resembles my Grandma, so I have learned not to take it too seriously. However, when I looked over, it was indeed my grandma!

We went over and said hi, and she said she was there with my mother and Alexandra. They were over at Build-a-Bear waiting for it to open.

We went over and said hi, and still had some time to kill before the store opened, so we took a walk down the Sears, where my grandma showed us the new dish washer she's going to be getting. The motor died on the old one.

Then we returned to Build-a-Bear with them, where Alexandra made a bear, and picked out clothes and stuff. They had a $10 coupon, so it was a really good deal! After that, we parted ways, and they went home. We went to Hollister, and we each got a nice shirt for our vacation!

Next we went to pick up Re! We then went to the bank, to the card store, to Ulta, and to Target! After that, we were ready for lunch. Dan and Re got something at Tropical Smoothie. While we were there, I noticed that a car parked outside the front door was being ticketed!! We were discussing whose car it could possibly be, and then, all of a sudden we saw a girl walking out to the car!

She argued with the guy, and then came storming back into the place with her ticket. She yelled across the way to her boyfriend, "some prick just gave you a ticket!" He didn't seem to mind much, he just laughed. She was really pissed. She was insane! Meanwhile, there were TONS of parking spots in the parking lot... why did they feel it was necessary to park directly in front of the door, in the fire lane?? She seemed like a really bitchy girl too, so it was hard to feel sorry for her in any way.

Then we went down the road a little for me to get some lunch at Boston Market. I had a nice meal of 1/4 White.

We continued our random drive, and found ourselves at Smith Point. On the way there, we passed this really weird man on the side of the road, and he looked like he was having some sort of troubles. We circled back to make sure he was okay, and figured we would call the police or something.. but it was hard to tell if there was something wrong with him, or if he was okay, but just weird... or if he was drunk... The last time we passed by him, he seemed a little more "with it," so we continued on our way.

The beach was windy, but we walked around, looked at the water, and the TWA Flight 800 memorial. Then we took a scenic drive home. We stopped at Radio Shack and I bought a voltage adapter for our trip! Unfortunately, now that we're home, and checking it out, we found out that what we have will work in France, but for England, we need an adapter tip for it. At least we found out now, and not once we arrived!

I was thinking... I've never gone somewhere that had different outlets! This means that we have to charge out items one at a time! That's a little bit weird, but I guess we have to do what we have to do! We'll have to alternate days of charging the camera, the laptop, my iPhone. :P

So, after that, we dropped Kristen off at home, and called it a day. Dan and I went home quickly, then over to Dan's parents house for Dan's weekly weigh-in! Then we came home, I took a shower, and watched Desperate Housewives!

It was the season finale! I was so excited for it, and there was so much going on leading up to it! It was a good episode, but unfortunately I felt like it lacked something. It was just good.. it wasn't GREAT! I loved what Angie did with the detonator, but even that wasn't suspenseful enough....it wasn't built up enough! Then, Susan moving out of her house was a real bummer, and even Lynette, the crazy kid, and her baby weren't as exciting as they could have been. They tried to leave you hanging with that "switched at birth" revelation... but I wasn't even really interested in it! The sad part is, just the other day, I was saying how this show was recently revived, and exciting again... and then they ran it into a brick wall with the finale. :(

Anyway, now it's time for sleep! Work tomorrow... Three work days left until EuRoPe! :)

Goodnight. :)
