"cross-country easter"

Hey Journal!

HAPPY EASTER!

We're back home after a fun weekend in Montreal! it went by so fast... I can't believe we did it all in a three day weekend. It worked out perfectly, though, and we still got home early enough to get some stuff done today!

It didn't really feel like a traditional Easter because we were in the car most of the day and didn't have any HAM for dinner... but it was a good day!

We woke up at 7:30 this morning and packed up our belongings. We got ready to hit the road and we said goodbye to Fred and thanked him for a fun weekend! We were on the road around 8:10 and stopped after about 25 minutes or so at a Tim Horton's to get something to eat.

We went to the drive up and I got a bagel and we also got some TimBits to share! (The birthday ones, of course!)

There was absolutely no traffic at the border...we literally pulled up just as the car in front of us was finishing at the booth and we were back in the US in no time at all! The girl at the border asked us where we lived, what we had gone to Canada for, an then we were on our way!

There wasn't any traffic upstate but as we got closer to the city there was a little bit. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't as little as we had on our way up. We only made two more stops the rest of the way home... one to get gas in the car around Lake George and the other was at a rest stop to go to the bathroom. All together, counting Tim Hortons, we probably stopped for a total of 20 minutes.

I only slept for a little bit of time....I think just before the rest stop and then Dan woke me up to ask if I wanted to stop and then I wasn't able to get back to sleep. I wasn't really tired, though...so it was fine.

It took about seven hours to get home and when we did we brought our stuff inside and then came right back out to clean up Dan's car. This week sometime he is going to show the guy his car who has expressed interest in buying it. We figured it would be good to give it a cleanup. Now that we did it, and it only took about 30 minutes, I feel like we really should have done it sooner to have enjoyed having a nice, clean car!

When we got inside, Dan took a shower and then went out to pick up some pizza for dinner. I washed a load of laundry and then took a shower.

When Dan got back we ate our dinner and watched two episodes of HTGAWM. We thought we were going to have three to catch up on but we didn't realize that last week as the Season Finale. I had been getting a little bored of this show lately but it really ended well. I feel like these two episodes were better than a lot of the other ones this season. Of course, it ended with a crazy cliffhanger!

After that we watch to watch some Walking Dead. We had three more episodes left in season 4 and one by one we watched all of them! We only planned to watch one or two but we got hooked! In this episode the two little girls who were tagging along with Carol and Tyreese were SO annoying! One thing I'm really happy about with this show is that whenever a character starts to get on my nerves, with very few exceptions, they leave the show in one or two episodes! That happened with BOTH of the girls!

Anyway, now we're getting ready for bed. A little earlier than usual but we wanted to get a nice night's sleep to be ready for this busy week we have coming up!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
