"carnival breeze day 5: curaao"

Hey Journal!

Today we were in Curacao! We got here later in the day, so it was a perfect day to sleep late and rest up in the morning! We slept until about 10:00 and then we got up and went up to the Marketplace to get breakfast. We ate, and then took a walk around the ship before deciding to go to the gym.

We went to the gym and I did two miles on the elliptical today! Then we came back to the room to get showered up and ready to get off the boat at Curacao. A little after 1:00, we docked in Curacao, and it apparently took a lot of time to dock there because of how windy it was!

Oh, and that reminds me about the wind from last night. It wasn't too bad out there for us. When we were at the deck party, we couldn't feel any movement, and the rest of the night it was noticeable, but nothing terrible. I think I've felt movement like that on other ships before, so this was nothing insane. It was very windy outside, but not a problem at all.

So, we went outside to watch the docking and then took some pictures of the island. We were supposed to meet everyone at 1:15 to get off the boat but they made an announcement that it would take a little longer, so we just waited and planned to meet up as soon as they made the announcement that we could get off.

Dan and I had a hamburger while we were waiting and then watched the beginning of Never Say Never which was featured on the big screen TV today! Woo Hoo! Nothing says vacation like sitting on the deck of a giant cruise ship watching Justin Bieber's movie. And I'm not even kidding!

Anyway, they made their announcement and we headed back to the room. We got here and Brian and Jessica were ready to go. My mom was there just a few seconds later, and about five minutes after that we got a call that Dan's parents needed more time. Dan was not very pleased since we had waited over 45 minutes from the time we were supposed to be ready and yet we still weren't ready.

Alas, we all went over to the staircase to wait for them. When they came down, we walked down towards Deck 0, but there was a long line starting at Deck 3. We went to the elevators and took them going up! We had to ride to 11, but then took the express back down! We got there and most definitely saved some time!

We got off the ship and walked out towards the taxis! So, our plan was to go to the beach, and that's what we did. We took a taxi for $5 per person to the Seaquarium beach. It was about a 10 minute ride. It cost $3 to get on to the beach. So, round trip, it cost $13 per person.

Apparently, Carnival has basically the same exact tour, but the only difference is that you don't take a taxi, instead you take a ferry. The ferry leaves from the dock where the ship is and takes you to the beach. You also get one "complimentary drink." Their tour costs $49.99. Insaneeee. Glad we did it how we did!

So, the beach was nice... we sat out and enjoyed the sun and went in the water a few times. We swam out to some rocks and then out to a little floating platform where you could jump into the water.

About 30 minutes before we left, I discovered that the beach had FREE WIFI! Amazing! I went online, did some random stuff, checked all my stuff, and also texted Linda to ask her to check us in for our flights on Saturday!! Woo Hoo! (Meanwhile, let's not talk about the flight home yet. That's too depressing to bare.)

We took the taxi back to the ship and got on. We showered up and then had a quick lunch, another hamburger, and then Dan and I did some more wandering around the ship / people watching. A favorite pastime.

Next, we got off the ship again and walked into town. We walked by the shops, but they were all closed. We also saw a car accident and the people got out and started screaming at each other, and then some other random lady was saying she witnessed the whole thing and was marching around with her hand up in the air. It was so weird, and this was all in another language by the way.

We stopped outside a Starbucks where there were a BUNCH of people gathered. Everyone was using their free WiFi! A lot of them were people who work on the ship, actually! It seems like the hot spot to stay connected.

Because everyone was online, the internet was a little slow at first but it really did pick up some more. We were there for about an hour. We walked back and got back on the ship, and then we got ready for dinner.

Next, we met everyone at dinner tonight at 8:15! The dining room was a bit emptier tonight because some people were off the ship. I got the Strip Steak tonight as well as a Chicken Pot Pie! Mmmm! They were both really good. I wasn't able to finish either of them, but I had to try them. I skipped dessert today, though. Second day in a row!

After dinner, we went to see some pictures with my mom at the gallery, and then we all parted ways for the night. Dan and I did more people watching and also sat and did the crossword and sudoku that they put out in the lounge every day.

There was a movie showing on the deck and we stopped for a little while to check that out, but kept walking. We did a lot of laps around the ship! Finally, we came back to the room and I got my phone to record my famous ship tour! We did it on the Miracle, and it's one of my most popular videos on YouTube.

I searched for some nice tours of the Breeze online before we left, and there really were none! I was so surprised that someone else hadn't done it yet, but that means I have to do mine and get it up soon! I want to get lots of hits!

Anyway, we got back to the room a little while ago, and now it's 1:06! Time for bed! Gotta get up early for Aruba tomorrow. The plan is to get up around 7, get breakfast, get ready, and then meet for the Jeep tour and Natural Pool excursion at 8:15. The excursion starts at 8:30.

This is the tour that Re did when she was in Aruba, and that's the reason we're doing it! It came highly recommended!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
