"animal kingdom or "cast connection"

Hey Journal!

Another late night here at the Walt Disney World Resort! Tonight was Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom and we stayed until the last minute trying to make sure we made the most of it.

This morning we arose around 8:00and got ready and headed down to Coconino Coe for breakfast! I had cereal and sadly the muffins were not in stock this morning.

We took a bus to Animal Kingdom and waited for Frank and Sth who we at the park earlier for a special behind the scenes tour of Expedition Everest. While we waited for them we got photos with Rafiki and then, when they came out, we went to their car to getFrank's guest passes and then we headed back in!

We had FastPasses for Expedition Everest but they had gotten cancelled because the ride wasn't open at the time. We got passes for anything else w e wanted but, by the time we walked over there, it was up and running so we just used them anyway.

I felt like the ride was more jerky than usual and my head hit the back piece pretty hard at one point and my neck was bothering me for awhile after it. It's still. a little tight but I'm hoping it'll feel better in the morning.

We walked over to Dinoland USA after that and rode the Primeval Whirl! It was good, as always. Dan always claims to hate it but secretly I know he loves it and it's a tradition that we ride it every time we're here!

Our next FPs were for Dinosaur and we had a little time to kill before it was time. We got photos with Donald and then we were ready. I was ready to see Phylicia Rashad! I love her.

Next up we did the Maharajah Jungle Trek and then headed over to Flights of Wonder. The same guy who has always done the show was there. We have such luck that we always catch him when we're here. Today's show wasn't so good, though. There were these random birds screeching nearby and it was distracting and I couldn't hear over it. Also, the birds in the show were all messed up today. They kept doing the wrong thing and going where they weren't supposed to. It's just not the best performance I've seen of this show.

At 12:00, it was time for Yak and Yeti! Another tradition of every trip. We were seated upstairs again and I really like the upstairs better than the downstairs so I'm glad it always works out that way. Our waitress was wild. She had a very strange way of speaking and she sounded, according to Seth, like she was at a Yoga class. She also looked exactly like Rhoda, of the 70s TV show, "Rhoda."

Finally, our last Fast Pass was for the Festival of the Lion King show. I had never seen it before so that was cool to check that out!

We left Animal Kingdom around 3:00 and we went to the Cast Member store, Cast Connection and Property Control. They have a lot of Disney merchandise for really cheap. Dan got a bunch of Tsum Tsum things for his friends at work and they were just .99 each AND buy two get one free! In the parks there' 5.95 each!

We perused the stuff there and found a lot of cool things we wanted for ourselves, especially some cool Orange Bird merchandise.

There was also a section of the store that had items from hotels and other Disney properties that were for sale. There were tables, lamps, tissue box holders, shirts, sign, and jsut a real hodgepodge of stuff. They had this really old computer monitor for $1.00. No takers, though.

When we finished there, Frank went to work and Set h dropped us off back here at the hotel.

Dan and got changed into our bathing suits and went over to the hot tub. We hung out there for a little while and then came back and showered up.

We went to the Coconino Cove to have some drinks and snacks before heading back out.

Next stop -- Magic Kingdom. We started with a FP for Haunted Mansion, then went over to Tomorrowland and rode the PeopleMover! Our dinner reservations were for Liberty Tree Tavern and, in retrospect, we should have just had a quick service for dinner tonight, but it was not a big deal.

I love the way they call your party at the restaurant. They called us, "Hear ye, hear ye, we now welcome from the great colony of New York... "

We had turkey and mashed potatoes and other assorted good stuff. We had dessert and I also got tea. After eating my ide cream AND drinking my tea I remembered that last time we went there I did the same things and wound up in the bathroom near Cosmic Ray's for a LONG time! I remember almost not making it while running against the post parade traffic!

Anyway, we finished our meal around 9:45 and hurried over to get a spot to watch the fireworks at the castle. We found a perfect location on #hubgrass and staked our claim.

Wishes started at 10:00 and the show was nice. After that we went to our FP for Journey Under the Sea, then rode it's a small world.

Our next destination was Frontierland and we went to the Country Bear Jamboree. I feel like it's changed a little sinee were were last there -- only slightly, but I felt like the heads on the wall talked less and. the show moved a little more quickly.

Big Thunder Mountain didn't have much of a line so we did that and then headed to Space Mountain. Clear across the park!

Our last stop of the night was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! We didn't get any FPs for it and we did want to make sure we got to do it once before we left so we got on the standby line. Since it was Extra Magic Hours and it was getting later, the line was 25 minutes at about 12:15am!

We took the bus back after that -- the line was ridiculous. We needed three busses to get everyone back to our hotel and meanwhile busses kept coming left and right for the hotels with no lines at all. It was frustrating but eventually the bus guy stepped in and got us two busses to start cleaning out the crowd!

Now we're back and I've moved some of our early FPs for tomorrow to later in the day so we can get a fair amount for of sleep!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
