"stranded at mini golf" or "flying home"

Hey Journal!

Well, we're home from Florida and I can't believe our vacation is over! We started the day in Disney World and got up around 9:30. We finished our final packing and then went to Coconino Cove to get breakfast. They didn't have any of my favorite muffins this morning -- but worry not, I had stashed one away yesterday in our dresser drawer so I ate that one today!

After breakfast we returned to the room and brought our luggage the airline check in and then put our backpack and other items in the bag storage room.

We had decided not to go to the parks today since we had done all the stuff we wanted to do and we figured we'd save our remaining ticket for next time. On a previous trip we had gotten free tickets to go to mini golf but we didn't get any this time. Dan went over to the concierge to ask about them and the lady was super-nice. She gave us a booklet with four free golf passes in it!

We went out to the bus stop and took the bus to Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach was closed but the bus stop was open for Winter Summerland Mini-Golf. When we arrived, our bus driver told us that when we were finished we should take the bus to Animal Kingdom and transfer there to go anywhere else we wanted to go.

There was a 25 minute wait for the mini golf but it wasn't bad. We played the summer course. It was cool. I think we played that one the last time we were there, too. There was a Chinese girl in front of us and she was sooooo annoying. She had to climb on EVERYTHING. She was climbing up, standing on railings, balancing on all sorts of decorative items.... it was just so inappropriate. My reference point is that if we somewhere with Linda and Connor did a fraction of what this gil was doing, Linda would hit the roof! Meanwhile, this girl's mother said NOTHING. They totally allowed her to do these ridiculous things! They were also very dangerous, so if she fell and got hurt, I'm sure she would have been the first to look to blame Disney!

So, we finished up our game and then headed out to wait for our bus. The bus area was pretty desolate. We waited about 20 minutes until the first bus came and it wasn't for us. It was for Epcot. We continued waiting. About 15 minutes more passed and another Epcot bus came. Dan spoke to the driver and the driver told us to wait for the AK bus. We did. Then TWO MORE Epcot busses came and went, and each time, they had nobody on them and they picked noone up! Dan asked each of them and they all said to wait for the AK bus.

After about 45 minutes, Dan called the Disney call center and complained. They told him that they had no Animal Kingdom busses running from Blizzard Beach -- but that makes no sense because ALL THE SIGNS said there was service. There were other bus routes that said they were not operating, but this one said nothing. Meanwhile, the phone people claimed they have had no bus service since October. WHAT? So, since October they never changed the signs and all the drivers keep telling us to wait? So weird.

The phone call lasted almost 30 minutes and we finally took an Epcot/Coronado Springs bus to our hotel. At the end of the call, Dan managed to get us FastPasses to anything we wanted to go on next time we're at Disney AND a $45 gift card. Wahoo!

Back at the hotel we wanted to have lunch. We went to the Pepper Market and I got pizza. As we were checking out, I went over to the register and said Hello to the woman working there. I put my food down and then she RAN AWAY. Like, she didn't even said hello, or I'll be with you in a minute....she just RAN.

I was really confused but we went over to another line instead. Then, a manager woman came over and I could see her looking puzzled at the empty register. I heard her ask someone else where that woman was.... and I chimed in "I don't know! I went over to her line and she RAN away! It was really weird!"

She eventually came back and with all the confusion she didn't even call the next person to her line -- she just started taking other people so I wound up staying where I was at that point.

After we ate, we decided that we would have enough time to take a bus to AK, then transfer for Yacht and Beach and then go to Fantasia Gardens Mini-Golf. We had never been there before. So, we did that, and then walked over to Fantasia Gardens.

They have two different courses. One with all Fantasia themed stuff and the other is like a real golf course, only MINI! It's actually really cool and I would have liked to give that one a try. They said it was much longer to play and, as it turns out, we wouldn't have had time.

We did the "whimsical" one and that was cool, too. The lady told us "if you lose your bal, just come back for a new one." When she said it, I thought that was an odd thing to say but on the second hole I lost my ball. I came close to doing it a few more times, and I witnessed the people in front of us have a few close-calls, too! It's more common than you'd think!

When we finished up, we hurried over to catch the boat to DHS and then from there we took the bus back to our hotel.

Dan went inside to confirm the details of our $45 gift card and stuff and I went to the baggage claim area to get our bags. The guy there was SO SLOW. He was helping one person when I got there and he couldn't find the guy's bags. He took about 10 minutes on this one bag. It was sooo annoying. Then he finally got to mine just as the Magical Express was pulling in. Dan came over and we were on the bus and ready to go!

Our driver was named Davidson. He seemed nice but he was a mess. He took forever to leave the hotel. He was freaking out because there were more people waiting for the bus than could fit on it. Then, when he finally got underway, his microphone kept squealing and screeching! I couldn't help but crack p. It was insane. By the end of the ride he was literally WHISPERING into it to TRY to stop it from going nuts!

There were these two people sitting across the aisle from us on the bus and they were laughing too. The girl kept looking over at me and laughing hysterically!

After we got off the bus we went inside and they waited for some luggage from the bottom of the bus. Then, we saw them again as we got into the same tram car to the terminal. Then we saw them again waiting for the plane. They were on our plane to ISP! Then, we saw them again at the baggage claim and we started talking to them

They are from Commack and they go to Disney fairly often. They have season passes (which just this trip I had been thinking MIGHT make sense for us at some point.)

Anyway, they were super nice!

On the plane I watched the first two episodes of the show Stranger THings. We've been told it's good on several occasions by several people so we wanted to give it a try. I downloaded the first two episodes for offline viewing on the new Netflix app and I think it's good! Dan is going to watch catch up so we can watch together.

Once we had our luggage, my mom came around and picked us up. She dropped us off at home and now we're back. The fun is over!

We just took showers and now we're getting ready for bed. We have to get up early tomorrow for Breakfast with Santa!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
