luggage out, time to leave, the last day of fun

Hey Journal!

Well, it's the most depressing day of our cruise. The last day. We put our luggage out at the door which is just such a killer. It is the sign that all of the fun is coming to an end! It's the worst!

We got up this morning around 9:30 and headed up to have breakfast on the Lido deck. We sat near the window and looked out at the beautiful blue water and couldn't believe that it was the last day. We did, however, decide to make the most of our final Fun Day at Sea!

After we had breakfast, we went down to the Ocean Plaza and played today's Sudoku. Dan and I challenged eachother and it took a long time! It was a hard one today. I won, eventually!

Then we stopped by the casino and cashed out. Dan had a $100 chip to cash in which was exactly what he had started with. I had to get $38.64 out of my player's bank. I started with $10, so I made a little bit and was quite happy with it!

We came back to the room for a little while and then Dan wanted to sit outside and get some sun. I took a walk around on the deck and then decided to go to the Mongolian Wok for lunch. Dan didn't want to come, so I left him sunning himself like a lounge lizard.

The place was packed today -- probably all the people who waited until the final day and then realized this was their last chance.

I was seated with a woman named Kate from California. She was really nice and we also talked to the two people next to us. They were about 65 years old and from Michigan. They were all very nice -- EVERYONE we've talked to on this cruise has been so amazingly friendly.

It took a while for the food to come so I spent a good amount of time in there. When I was done, I found Dan right where I had left him and we decided to go in the pool. We went and sat down by the pool for a while and everyone was bouncing a big beach ball and trying to keep it from hitting the water.

There were some annoying girls at the pool splashing and running all over the place so we decided to try the pool in the back of the ship. It was MUCH warmer. I'm glad we switched it up. I went in and swam around for a while and then we decided to check out the hot tubs.

We went to Serenity and took a dip. Dan got us some drinks -- I got another Maitai!

We were in there for a while and we talked to another two people -- they were from Syracuse.

It's really weird because the majority of the people we talked to on this cruise -- if not all of the people -- are people we would never normally want to talk. I don't know how to explain that, but they just weren't our usual type of person to want to befriend. But they were all so great. I guess it's true that you really just have to go out and make an effort to talk to anyone and most of the time you'll be pleasantly surprised!

When we got out of the hot tub we found an open clamshell and watched the sun set.

Then we headed back to the room and packed our suitcases. We had everything packed up before dinner.

We got dressed and headed off. We sat in our preferred spot, on the 4th floor overlooking the downstairs. I had the flat iron steak and it was really good again. For dessert I had the Melting cake to say farewell! They did a show and sang and all of that. I really am going to miss my time on the Vista!

During dessert, we started talking to the people sitting next to us. They were from Toronto. They were very friendly, told us about their trip and a lot about themselves. The man was an auto repair guy and he was on a trip that he got from a supply company that he earned by buying a certain amount of parts from them. Not bad!

Anyway, after dinner we did a walk around the ship, then came back to the room and put our suitcases out. Ugh!

We walked around some more, listened to some music, went up to the Lido deck, played mini-golf, shuffleboard, and just enjoyed the last hours of the vacation!

Now, we're back in the room and it's time for bed. We were SUPPOSED to get off the ship at 10:30am so I was excited to get up around 9, have a nice leisurely breakfast, and then get off. BUT, Dan booked us on a Miami tour tomorrow and we now have to be up at 7 and off the ship at 7:45. UGH! Please help me.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
