#spreadjoy

Hey Journal!

Today we had a Christmassy Friday night of spreading joy around the neighborhood! Linda had the idea to buy dollar store christmas cards and then deliver them to houses with really nice lights!

The day started with work. I got in around 9:20 and left at about 4:50, trying to beat the traffic home!

When I got back, Dan and I prepared the house for Linda to come over and then we waited for their arrived. They got to us at about 6:30 and we headed out to get dinner at Applebee's! I was really hungry because I ate only a very little bit at work today. I had a bowl of Cheerios towards the end of the day.

When we went out to the car to meet them, I took weird fake hand with me. Connor and Cameron enjoyed it and they wanted to take it into the restaurant. We did, and Connor sat with it in the sleeve of his jacket when we first got there. The waiter may or may not have noticed but it was hysterical to me. Linda was feeling the cringe factor.

While we were eating, we all filled out the Christmas cards. Well, everyone except Connor. He refused. We wrote things about having really nice Christmas lights and decorations and stuff like that. We filled out all 40 cards and then we were all set for the post-dinner activities!

First, we went over to Target QUICKLY to get some milk. Dan and I were running low and I wanted to make sure we had enough for everyone with their cookies.

We hurried home after that, dropped off the milk, and then we started traveling the neighborhood looking for worthy houses! Cameron's first hit was at Cheryl's house next-door. Then we went down the block and found a REALLY AMAZING house just one street over! I wonder if they've done it other years -- it's just that we really have no reason to go down that street in the winter. In the summer, we walk there all the time. Anyway, their lawn was full of craziness! They had 12 choir people, lots of neat old-school decorations, a santa in a chair, AND a giant snowman as tall as their house! It was nuts. Of course we would find the BEST house first.... all of the rest couldn't stand a chance!

We started at 8:40 and we were out for an hour and 1 minutes spreading joy around the neighborhood. One of our favorites was a house that had a giant tree with lights in it and when Cameron got out to deliver the card the man who lives there was outside! She gave the card directly to him and he said that he was really glad she liked them.

We got home here at about 10:00 and I made some chocolate chip cookies. I;m really into making them this season!

We played some games on the TV and then Linda wanted my help with some games for a baby shower she's going to tomorrow. We went upstairs to use the Windows computer since I needed Publisher. It took a little while but we came up with some really nice designs for the games and I sent them to her as PDFs to print!

We hung out a little while longer after we were finished and we met some new friends using the Holla app. We met some guy who was friendly and said he wanted to come visit New York. He said he wanted to hang out with us when he came and we told him to let us know when he's here. I mean, I think that most likely will not happen, but it was nice anyway! lol

So, Linda headed home around 12:30 and now we're just going to watch a little TV and then head to bed.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
