"stranger golf course things" or "kristens birthday (observed)"

Hey Journal!

Today was such a strange day at work! It was crazy!

The whole week was pretty dead and I was hoping for another day like that to end out the week but all the weird stuff had to happen!

First, around 9:30, the mechanic came downstairs to tell me that he had just seen a car, a yellow sports car, drive onto the golf course, cross the bridge, and then stop near one of the tees. He said the driver got out and started taking pictures of his car!

He told him that he had to leave and the guy said he thought this was a road! WHAT? He told him he had to leave, and thankfully the guy got out of there. You have to have some balls to drive out onto the golf course! What an idiot!

The second occurrence was a little later when a guy came by to play the course. I had set him up with a tee time because he said he had been talking to Dan's dad and wanted to try the course. We usually don't allow prospective rounds on Friday but I figured it was slow so it wouldn't hurt.

When he arrived, I went up to say hello and he was near the lobby. We finished talking and then I realized that his wife had TWO DOGS WITH HER! What the heck! They were in the lobby sitting on the couch... barking and jumping all over the place.

When I came downstairs I called Bill and told him that if they tried to take the dogs out on the golf course that we would have to tell them no. Bill did, and they told him they were emotional support dogs.

Bill asked Steve and I what to do and we decided that he would have to show papers or ID for the dogs because we have a no-dogs on the course policy. He presented a doctor's norte an ID card for the dog and we decided to let him go but it was ridiculous. Also, he only had this for one dog...not the other one! So why did you have two? It said he has asthma and the dogs keep him from having an attack. Ridiculous.

I looked online later and, actually, NY State law says that you have to allow a service animal, but a service animal is one that is trained to do a specific task to help the person. Like a seeing eye dog, for example. It says that NY does not require you to accommodate an emotional support animal.

We hoped he wouldn't want to join but if he did we were going to have to lay down the rules.

He was out for about 2 hours and then I got a call that he was upstairs. I came up and the dogs were mysteriously not by his side. He said his wife had gotten stung by a bee on the first hole and they never got to play. WHAT? Then what were they doing out there for TWO HOURS!? He said he would call back next week to reschedule another round. We decided we're going to ignore him when he tries to make contact. Something weird is going on with this guy.

In the afternoon, I had to go with Steve to drop his car off at an auto body shop in Huntington. He's finally having all the dents and scratches fixed from the three random accidents that happened while he was parked three separate times!

We dropped the car off, drove back to work, to drop me off, and then Steve went home.

When I got back to work I had a few things to finish up and then I left at 5:00.

We got ready to go out to dinner with Kristen and then watched part of an episode of Stranger Things! This season is really good!

Kristen arrived at 7:30 and we headed out to have her birthday celebration dinner at Hudson's Mill! I got the short ribs, of course, and they were amazing as always. It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Maybe it's good that it's kinda far and kinda expensive because we don't go too often so it's always a treat.

After we ate we came back home and I made cookies and we hung out in the living room for a while!

We watched some more Stranger Things after Kristen departed and now we're gonna get ready for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
