"jackpot party" or "paranormal"

Hey Journal!

Well, today was our last day in Vegas and we had a pretty good day! We got up at about 10:00 and headed over to our new favorite restaurant for breakfast.

The Ellis Island Restaurant! Yaassss!

This time we went for the steak and eggs special for just $6.99! It was really good. I'm telling you, this was one of the best finds!

After breakfast we walked up to the strip and stopped in the Bellagio to go to the bathroom. That was just about 12:00 and the new Pokémon Halloween event was starting.

There were a few new Pokémon and I was catching them left and right! So far I have four of the six new ones! It's also a double candy event so that's been insane, too. Each Pidgey is ready to be evolved if you Pinap it!

So, next we walked around the Bellagio casino and played a few games. Dan found some slot machines with money left on them and collected about a dollar in free money!

We made our way back to our hotel room to relax for a bit but just as we sat down on the couch the housekeeper knocked at the door to clean our room. We vacated to let her do her thing and we went downstairs. Dan got a refill on his Fat Tuesday drink and we walked around the strip a little bit.

At about 2:30 we headed back to the room and I took a shower and got ready for the show we were going to tonight. We left the room at 3:00 and got to Bally's around 3:20. We checked in at the box office and then headed upstairs to the theater.

The show was scheduled for 4:00 and it was a "mentalist" named Frederic DaSilva. I didn't really know what to expect except that the show got an excellent rating on all of its online reviews!

We had "premium" tickets so our seats were close to the front but a little off to the right side.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, these are the tickets we got for free after sitting though that timeshare presentation. We had $100 to spend on any show or attraction and we saw this had good reviews and was right in our price range at $48/ticket.

Anyway, it was an incredible show. He came out and threw some frisbees into the audience and then the people who caught them got to come on stage and participate. The first thing he did was have someone pick a random word off of a page of a book and then he guess the word. It was wild. He did it much more elaborately than it sounds from what I just said but it was crazy! The rest of the show was great, too but I'm going to skip ahead to the end now.

The last thing he did, he threw more frisbees. Dan caught it and he asked him if he remembered the name of his first girlfriend. Dan said "no" so he asked him to throw the frisbee to someone else.

Anyway, after the show he did a meet and greet and everyone who wanted to lined up to say hello and get a photo!

When it was our turn, he said to Dan, "tell me the truth, do you remember the name of your first relationship?" and Dan said yes. He said "okay, as I was walking down here, I jotted a name down on a paper. It's in my pocket! What is the name?" So, dan tells him the name and then he asks dan to reach in and get it out. Dan reaches into the pocket and pulls out a paper folded small and when he opens it, there is the name written on the paper!! It was insannnnnne!!

Then he turned to me and asked me to pick a number between one and 99. I picked my login number at work and didn't say it out loud. He scribbled on a paper and then handed me the Sharpie marker. I told him the number and then he handed me the paper which said the same number! Unreal!! I just don't know how he does it!!

The show was a little over an hour long and then the meet and greet took another 15 minutes or so. When we got out we walked back to our hotel to put the papers he gave us away and then we walked back around the strip.

We found ourselves back by Bally's and then walked down some side street.

Originally we had planned to pick up our rental car in the morning but I suggested that we see if the price wasn't too much more that we get the car tonight so we could go to Green Valley Ranch, maybe drive somewhere else nearby, and save us time and effort tomorrow.

Dan looked up the price. He had booked the original rental several weeks ago and it was for $167. The only change was that we would pick up the car tonight at 8pm instead of tomorrow at 11am.

The price was $147, $20 CHEAPER! Amazing. So we took an Uber to the airport and picked up the car at about 8:00.

We drove over to GVR, checked out the casino, and then decided to go to dinner at our favorite, Ellis Island.

It was about 9:30 when we arrived there and we had to park around back in the parking garage. We had another GREAT meal! I got country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and string beans and it was just 11.99! We also got a brownie sundae to share for dessert.

We were getting pretty tired after we finished eating but before we left we did a lap through the casino and found Jackpot Party! Our old favorite slot machine! I haven't seen that one around in years!

Anyway, to recap, I had that big win of $220 the other day but with the ups and downs of our other endeavors we were up $165 as of this point.

Dan put $10 into Jackpot Party and we gave it a go! I was reminded of why I really like this game. It's so easy to understand and the betting choices are better.

Anyway, after a while we were down to almost nothing and then, before long we were done. Dan put ten more dollars in and then our luck changed. We got a bonus round and won almost $50! Then we were down to about 30 and won another $15ish. In the end, we walked away with $40, a win of $20!

That's the last of our gambling for Las Vegas so we're leaving here with $185 more than we came with! Meanwhile, eating at Ellis Island every meal, we didn't even spend that much on food!

I was so tired and so happy that we didn't have to walk back to the hotel. We parked in the parking garage and then got back to the room. We filled up the in-room hot tub and took a little dip before showing up and getting ready for bed!

Now it's time for sleep! The plan is to leave early in the morning for Phoenix, AZ!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
