"castles n coasters" or "escape the rec room"

Hey Journal!

Today we had a full day of fun here in the Phoenix area! We started our day in Chandler, went to Gilbert, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and finally Tempe!

We got up around 9:00 and headed down to the lobby for breakfast. I had a waffle and orange juice. The waffles are good but they're buckwheat waffles. I think the regular ones are better I just don't understand their choice of BUCKWHEAT!

We left the hotel around 11:15 and we drove around a little bit looking for open houses to go to to see what houses here look like inside. We decided not to do that and instead headed to the mall.

We made a few laps around the mall and then went to have lunch at The Cornish Pasty Company. I got a chicken pot pie pasty. It was a little tasteless but wasn't terrible.

After we ate we walked around Old Town Scottsdale. It was really hot outside but it was completely bearable. I loved it!

While we were walking around we found an escape room place and decided to give it a try! We booked a reservation for 5:30 and we had a little time to kill beforehand so we went to CVS to get something to drink. I got a bottle of cranberry juice.

We got back to the escape room around 5:00 and headed in at about 5:20. We were with a group of 5 other people and it was a "rec room." They put us in the room and really didn't give any rules or explanations! It was kinda weird!

It took us a long time to get our first clue and I was very worried we weren't going to do it! The group we were with was nice, maybe a little younger than us, and also were pretty good at figuring things out.

At one point we had this big dark shaft and there was a key at the bottom but you really couldn't see the key. It was so dark inside. I figured out that there was a key but only by chance! It was so hard to see it!

There was an R2D2 stuffed animal and we accidentally dropped it down the shaft! That was a mess! In the end, we needed the R2D2 to get out!

So, I am happy to report that we managed to escape in time! We really did well and I'm so happy we don't have a blemish on our record! We have escaped from all the rooms we have done!

After that we decided to go to Castles n Coasters for some mini golf! We played course 4. It was such a nice, warm night and we had a fun time.

Next we went to dinner at a place called RigaTony's. They had Italian food and I got spaghetti with sausage!

We got back to the hotel and showered up and thought we would watch 10 Days in the Valley at 10 before going to bed. Unfortunately, it wasn't on at 10! Here it's on at 9! Ridiculous!

So now we're just gonna get to sleep and rest up for our next day of adventures!
