"return to the organ stop" or "las vegas to arizona"

Hey Journal!

Today we said goodbye to Las Vegas and headed for the second part of our trip in Arizona!

We got up around 8:30 and left the hotel around 9:15. It was great that we already had the rental car and didn't have to waste time going to the airport!

The plan was to get breakfast along the way and I looked up some places on Foursquare as we were driving.

I found a place called the Southwest Diner and it had good reviews. I got a waffle with an egg and bacon. The waffle was really good and it was in a flower shape with 8 separate petals. It was really easy to eat.... I liked it.

From there we continued on to Arizona and along the way we stopped at the Snoopy on a Rocket thing on the side of the road! I got out and took a few selfies and then we were back on our way.

As we got close to our hotel, we stopped at a Costco to get gas and then at Culver's to have a quick snack to hold us over until dinner.

We got to the hotel around 4:30 and we proceeded directly to our room because you pick your room on the app and then use your phone as the key! It's great.

I wanted to stay in the same room we did last year but it wasn't available so we're just one floor below!

We got settled into our room and then decided to go to Tempe Beach Park to take a walk around. It was a really nice night. They were setting up for the Ironman race thing tomorrow so there was a lot going on. We walked around by the water and then headed back to the car to go to dinner.

For dinner we returned to the amazing Organ Stop Pizza! The best!! We called ahead to make sure that Charlie was on the keys (he was much better than the other guy we saw!) Anyway, we arrived and got our food and then went to enjoy the amazing organ!

He played a couple of good songs and it was just as amazing as I remembered but I was a little disappointed that some of the songs he played were a little blah! We plan to go back another night before we leave and I hope he changes it up a bit!

One thing that always annoys us is that he never plays "The Happy Organ" which is a great song we head years ago! We always request it and he never plays it! We have a plan for next time, though. I took a handful of request cards and were going to fill the out beforehand with a bunch of requests for that song!!

After we ate, we went down to Tempe and walked around the main street there. It was a busy Saturday night so there were a lot of people watching opportunities.

We were pretty tired after that and we came back to the hotel. We got back here around 10 and we showered up and got ready for bed.

We don't really have any plans for our time in Arizona so we're going to see where the wind takes us!
