"cruise: day 3" or "cozumel, mexico"

Hey Journal!

Today was another fun and exciting day! We woke up at 8:30, however last night the clocks got set back one hour, because we changed time zones, so it would have been 9:30. We got an extra hour of sleep! :)

We got ready for breakfast, and then met Brian and Jessica in the hall, then took the elevator and met Dan's mom and dad on Deck 3 outside of Portofino. We had to sit down breakfast this morning, I got pancakes and toast, and hash browns.

After breakfast, we returned to out cabins to get our stuff for Mexico. We went to Teatro Urbino to get a pass for the tender. We waited there for about fifteen minutes, and then went down to the &&. Apparently, there used to be a dock in Cozumel, and you could get right off... but one of the recent hurricanes destroyed it, and now you have to take the little boat over.

So, we got off and walked through the little shops they had there, and then took a taxi to Playa Mia. Playa Mia is a beach and we bought passes from the Cruise. There, we laid down on the "banana" beach chairs, and went in the water, and I took some sand. :) The water was sooooo blue! I couldn't believe... like a deep dark blue... and then up by the shore it was so clear! So cool!

We spent a few hours there, and had some fun... I may have even managed to get the start of a tan! It was 80 degrees according to the TV, but it was a little windy. The sun was strong, though.

We went through the mini zoo (weird, I know) at Playa Mia, and saw some of the random animals. They also had a lot of fake animals in the grass, like big plasticy ones, like the elephants at AdventureLand! Anyway... my favorite was the giraffe who was knocked over on his side. LOL So random!

So we took the Taxi back, and we did some little shopping in Mexico. I got a nice T-Shirt and two pens and a little wooden pig thingy with a bopping head. We should have bought soda or something to being back with us, even alcohol..but we didn't realize how easy it would have been. On the way back, we got right onto the tender and soon we were on the ship... they did X-rays as usual, but they didn't care about alc. We should have brought our own! lol

We met for lunch at the Bellagio Ristorante Buffet, I had hamburgers and chicken patties again. They were good. Then everyone else went for a nap, Dan and I went in the hot tub for a little.

When we were done, I took a shower, and Dan took a short nap. I went to the internet cafe and wrote a quick email to my mom...it cost $3.00 to be on for 5 minutes! lol We got ready and took a little walk around the ship....and got a drink in the main lounge. We then went to dinner at 8:30, and met everyone else there.

Dinner was good, I got the chicken. Tonight's dinner was shorter then the past few. Afterwards, it was Mediterranean Night, and wow.. first we started off just walking around looking at each country in the various lounges. We got stamps in our little fake "passports" and then we met Dan's mom and dad and watched the dancers in "Spain" and then "Greece" in the main lounge. It was fun. Dan and I went wandering back to "France" and this WILD man dressed in woman's clothing told us to follow him. We thought he was bringing us to a table, but no.. he took us through some wild door and into this white room of the ship, which is a crew area... and you could tell the wall of that room was the insulation for the outside of the ship! So wild.. anyway, He told us to put on these crazy weird wigs and outfits to do a dance in the show!! It was WILD.. i can't even explain...but it was scary, yet fun.

After that, we walked around exploiting the rest of the ship...a few things we hadn't found....like the third floor of the buffet room, and the gym. It was soooo warm out tonight.. I think it's getting warmer. I went to the casino.. and WOOO... I put in ONE DOLLAR, and I walked away with 27.50!!! Way to be!! I LOVE THAT GAME... BEACH PARTY all the WAY!

So, Dan and I returned to the cabin, and now I am getting ready for bed. It's now 2:15am and I have to get to sleep... we lost an hour of sleep tonight....very sad. :( Have to set the clocks forward again.

Tomorrow is a day at sea, so we hope to have lots of fun and relax around the ship!!
