"niagara falls: part 2"

Hey Journal!

Today we got up at 9:00am and got ready to start the day. We took showers and got dressed, then went down to the falls. We walked to the Maid of the Mist area and got tickets, then got on line.

It took only 30 minutes to get down to the boat, and they gave us our ponchos and stuff! Very cool. The boat went so close to the falls, and sooooo much mist! It was crazy! I had myself pretty much covered by the poncho, but the crazy mist really soaked my shoes and socks!! lol

After that, Dan and I went back to the hotel and got the car, and then went for a drive a little further into Canada! We stopped at a 7-11 and got a Gatorade and a Canadian Lotto scratch off! We also went to a Supermarket and to a place called Canadian Tire, which is deceiving because they do have an auto section, but for the most part it's a K-Mart with the smell of a hardware store! lol

We then went to the Rainbow Bridge and crossed back into the US. The lady at the border was a little crazy!

We walked around the State Park, which is very park-like compared to the US side. We bought our tickets for the Cave of the Wind, and let me tell you... now they don't give you those heavy ponchos anymore, and they don't give you the moccasins either! Now, they give you these crazy sandals that you get to keep! So cool. However, if one chooses not to keep the sandals, they are donated to "the peoples' poor."

We didn't actually DO the cave due to the long line, and we walked around the American side with Dave, taking in the beauty of the park! lol Dan was talking to a woman named Bernadette, who is a park ranger, then when she and her fellow ranger got into their little GEM car, Dan says, "You're letting Bernadette drive!? I don't know if that's such a good idea!" It was great.

We took some good pics and such, and then we were GOING to go to Toronto, so we headed back over to the Canadian side. We came back to the hotel, but then Tyler texted us and said he wasn't gonna be available, so we decided not to go.

We took a walk down by the falls, and saw the nice view of the falls from the casino. We walked around, and down the entire little strip area... we then went up and had dinner at Applebee's. We ate outside on the patio, and it was a very enjoyable dinner!

Finally, we walked back to the hotel, and then took a drive back to the 7-11 to get cereal and milk for breakfast tomorrow..and now it's time to get some sleep!

Tomorrow's plan is to go up on the Skylon Tower in the morning and get some good pictures with my zoom lens, then walk around the Canadian side, and get some pics... then we're gonna depart Canada, and head back to the US side where we will do the Cave of the Winds, and then take some more pics, and head home!! Ahhh

Alrighty... that's all for tonight.. gotta get to sleep!

Goodnight. :)
