"bobby's burger palace...not so much of a palace

Hey Journal!

Today I we got up really early for a Saturday! Around 9:00. We got up and watched some TV, got ready to go out, and then we finished taking the molding off the window that I had started yesterday.

We went out to the mall and walked around there for a little while, and then decided to try out that new place, Bobby's Burger Palace, for lunch. It was...interesting. The food was good, I got a grilled cheese, but I was unhappy with the arrangement of the restaurant. It was kinda a turnoff. First, you come in, and there's a line waiting for the register, and there is enough room for people to wait to the right, but noone uses the space properly. Smart people would be able to see that you are supposed to wrap the line around this little half-wall thing in the middle of the waiting area, but you definitely shouldn't assume that your customers are smart. So, as a result, there was a giant mess of people crowding the door. The line moved slowly, and we placed our order, and THEN you are faced with the annoying task of finding your own seat. Now, this in iteself isn't a bad idea, BUT they really didn't use the space well. They have a row of 4 seater tables along the windows, which makes sense, and then they have a counter-like set up next to that, with these counters that weave back and forth, they are like...V shaped. And there are seats only on one side. (The other side, the people come to give you your food once it's ready.) Anyway, this is pretty cool, except it wastes SOOO much space with the winding! They should have made like two rows of seats running the whole length of the restaurant, and it would have made so much more available seating. But no, this way you are forced to compete with people who are milling back and forth like vultures waiting for someone to get up to snag their seat. And the further problem with that is that, like our example... There was a man there, obviously before us, and he was looking for a seat. Then we entered the seating area, and were milling around. At one point, he was on one side, and we were on the other, then over the course of five minutes or so, we had reversed. Then two people got up in front of us, and we quickly snatched their seats. And the poor man who had been looking for a seat still didn't have one. AND since he had ordered first, I'm sure his food was ready first, and he could possibly not have found a seat before his food was done.

Okay, enough about this place.. it's new and aside from having good (not great) food, I would say it's not worth the hassle of it all.

Anyway, after that we went to Home Depot to get the molding. We measured and cut it, and then came home to CUT! We stopped to get my grandpa's miter box... and then went to work.

It came out nice, and we nailed it up, and I then worked on getting the little cracks filled in with the wood filler. It didn't take too long.

Then we watched some Gossip Girl, and got ready to go out to dinner. We went to Cheesecake Factory. It was an enjoyable time. I got the usual Chicken and Biscuits. :)

We then drove around in a big circle, and headed home when it started pouring! We came back and hung out, watched Gossip Girl, and now we're going to watch another episode before bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
