"hey presbyterians" or "gosh-o"

Hey Journal!

Today was...well.. very different than most Sundays. It wasn't as restful as most, because I had to do some work, but It was something different, for sure.

We got up at 7:00 and headed out to a church in Jamaica! We met Karen there, and she gave a presentation to the congregation, and then we went into the basement, to answer any of the questions that the people there had. Then we had to do it over again for the second service.

It was a wild church. It was actually really fun. All of the people there were so nice! There were some funny things though... One, was this woman dressed ALL in silver. A shiny silver hat, jacket, dress. Everything. Then, we had candy canes out on our table, and one lady came over and asked if she could take one. Karen told her to take as many as she liked. And with that, she proceeded to scoop up TEN candy canes! She took half of what we had there! We were all looking at each other in awe! lol

One of my other favorites, was that they put the words to their songs on the big screen in the front of the church... and there were a few good misspellings. For example, one was SUPPOSED to say, "the immortal greatness of God." but instead, it read, "the IMMORAL greatness of God." Another, the word Angels was misspelled as Angles.

All in all, it was a good time, but we didn't get out until about 2:00, and it was tiring. I was also tired because, while I thought I was gong to get a great night's sleep last night, I was up for a long time with a bad stomach ache. :(

Anyway, after the church, we went to the Green Acres Mall, which is in Valley Stream, and Dan wanted to go there because they do advertising for them.

We then headed home, and rested up, watched some episodes of House, and got all caught up. We are now totally caught up on ALL of our TV shows except Heroes. We have one more to go, but after tonight... we will have two.

Then for dinner, we went to Gasho with Dan's mom and dad. The food was really good, but unfortunately we were at a really small table, and it was kinda cramped. Also, the geisha girl that we had was really really annoying. She took forever to bring the soup, and the drinks, and then when we asked her for boxes to take how our leftovers, she took FOREVER to get them. In fact, she never DID get them, and we asked her twice. We wound up asking someone else. Meanwhile, she was so concerned with taking back the signed copy of the credit card slip. Dan's mom was still looking at it, and she was hovering over her for it, and then she was like "ARE YOU DONE YET?" What the hell.

When we got home, I took a shower, and now... BED TIME!!

Work tomorrow..... another week of fun, just beginning.

OH, and I have been trying all day to change my Facebook picture, and it won't let me. How rude.

Goodnight. :)
