Super Bowl XLIII

Hey Journal!

IT'S SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! Woo Hoo!!

Today we got up, had bagels for breakfast, and then went out for a bit. We went to the golf course to pick up something I had left there on Friday, and needed. Then we went to the mall for a little bit and walked around, and then went for lunch at Lotus East. I really like that place.. it's so good... I don't know why we don't go more often! I love eating there, the people are so weird and funny, and the place is soooo strangely decorated. I love every single thing about it!

After that we came home, played some Mario Kart and then got ready for our SuperBowl fun! We were contemplating going over to Dan's parent's house to watch the game, but it turns out... they were going to watch somewhere else, so we wound up staying home... and Liz came over to watch with us!

We started our usual SuperBowl commercial ratings! This year instead of a pen and paper, I used Excel, which gave us up to the minute averages of which commercial we had liked the best, and also of our average scores given. It was most useful! lol

The game was a little uninteresting in the beginning, and in the middle... but the end it Did pick up!

During half-time, Liz and I went to get pizza. Dan had called Aegean, and ordered a pie. First, Liz wanted to go get some nose spray, because she was a little congested. The only thing open in the shopping center was Uncle Giuseppe's! So, we went there. We went to the medicine aisle, and there was only One type of nose spray, and just three bottles of it left. We picked it up, and headed out. The store was empty as could be!

We got to the register, and when the guy went to ring it up, it didn't work. He said the item wasn't in the system! So he asked if there was a price on the shelf. I ran back, but there was nothing. The place where the nose spray was, had a label for something different, and there was nothing to be found. I came back and reported this.

Then the cashier asks "Juan" what to do. Juan is the guy who, when we got to the register, had a big box of candy bars, and was taking them out of the box, and lining them up one by one on the conveyor belt thing, and then when we came over, he scooped them all up and put them back in the box! lol

So, he says he will go look. Even though I already did that! lol So he looks, comes back with all three boxes, but says there is no price on the shelf. Juan is now perplexed, so he asks some other guy. They both decide to go look at the shelf. It's now been like 5 minutes, and it's clear they AREN'T GOING TO FIND ANYTHING OVER THERE.

Then this guy who works there comes up and wants to buy three cases of this Sushi stuff. He tells the kid it's "buy one, get two free". He then proceeds to tell Liz what a GREAT deal it is. One is 8.00, so he's really making out. The kid scans one, and puts all three in the bag, and that's that.

So now our friends come back from the aisle, and proclaim that they FOUND the price on the shelf. It was 5.39. Now, it didn't take a genius to realize they just went back there and MADE IT UP. But whatever, we thought it was a good price. Liz paid, and off we went.

*Fast Forward- We looked it up later, and the thing is supposed to be about 9.00, so she got a good deal!

Then we head over to Aegean, and just when this little trip couldn't get weirder...it did.

I decided to pull the car up front, and Liz went in to get the pie. I'm parked outside under the giant light-up sign that says "AEGEAN II." Liz gets the pizza, and gives the guy her coupon. He's perplexed. He stares at the coupon and then says... "OH! This coupon is for Aegean!" Liz says, "Isn't that where I am?".. "No... This is La Cucina." Liz: "Since when??" Man: "Thursday!"

In all seriousness, as if that was like...obvious. I mean, first off... Thursday was 3 DAYS AGO! We just cut this coupon out of the paper on like, Monday, and it said Aegean! lol THEN... There's the GIANT light-up sign that STILL SAYS AEGEAN! How would people know that they changed their name! So so strange! lol Anyway, he was nice and gave us the money off anyway, and also randomly told Liz he was gonna give her "something to take with her", which she assumed was a menu or business card, or magnet. No no, he meant free food. He gave her a bunch of random slices, and a pinwheel! LOL

What a strange night! haha. It certainly was a memorable trip to the store.

Then we headed back with our goods!

So... The end of the game was good... we wanted Arizona to win, but sadly they did not....and they came so close, too.

Our favorite commercial of the night was one for Doritos, where a man threw a snow globe at a vending machine. Followed by one for Hulu, and then a Denny's commercial with something called "NannerPuss"! Truly amazing. I wish we had Denn'y by us! Anyway, I will try to post these commercials soon! My only complaint about the Denny's commercial is that the "Nannerpuss" part wasn't long enough. :(

Anyway, that's all for tonight... I shall return tomorrow with more!

Goodnight. :)
