"hangin in brooklyn" or "surprise"

Hey Journal!

Well, today was a FULL day. I'm glad I got up and out early, but really.. it feels like such a wasted weekend day!

I headed out to the golf course at 10:20, and stopped for gas on the way. I got here at about 10:45, and got all of my stuff together for going in to Brooklyn with Karen to one of the churches to give people info on our CPC stuff.

Karen and I departed at 11ish, and arrived at the church around 12:10. It was a storefront church with a little awning with the name on it, and those giant metal grates down over the windows. There was just a small opening for the door! It was not the nicest of neighborhoods. We went inside, and it was small, and there weren't many people around. Actually, there were about 2 people there... and Karen and I thought that was gonna be it!

As it turned out, there were about 30 people there, and the people we talked to really were interested in buying plots, so it all worked out. There were some amazingly funny moments... one, a woman had told us a story about her family, and how they had gone through some hard times, and so as she was getting up, Karen shook her hand, and as she was doing that, she said, "I'm going to say a prayer for you." SOOO... The lady like..clutches her hand, and sits BACK DOWN in the chair... and Karen was like, "no...ummm...I meant later... in my head." lol It was so funny.

After our time there, we went to Dunkin Donuts, and also went to check out another church across the street that we also do CPC stuff for, but as we pulled into the parking lot, a guard came over and told us that the sanctuary was "in lockdown." So we left. SO WEIRD.

Anyway, we got back around 3:45, and Karen dropped me off at the golf course. We were supposed to do this again tomorrow at a different church, but they called and canceled.

Dan had come up to the golf course to get his clubs, and so we headed home, got changed, and then headed off to Dan's parents' house because they were having a surprise party for Big Ed, and we had to set up the music.

We did, and then we wound up staying for the whole party. lol

Anyway, now we're home, and just gettin ready for bed, and going to watch another episode of SFU.
