"triumph day1: embarkation"

Thursday, 7/9/09

Hey Journal!

On Thursday, we got up at about 9:00 and got ready for our CRUISE! We finished packing, and then my mom came over, and we left to get bagels, and then get Dan's mom!

We drove in to the city, and hit a little traffic, but we arrived at the cruise terminal just a little before 1:00. We parked the car, got the luggage out, and headed in! We waited in line in the check-in thingy, and before long, we were on board!!

We went and had lunch on deck 9, then the rooms were ready, and we came to check them out. Now, unlike all of our previous cruises, this time we had an INSIDE ROOM! I was very nervous about this, because I always liked having a balcony, and going outside, and all that... and from what I had seen of the inside cabins, I was really scared. However, it really isn't that bad... the room is big enough, and not having a window really doesn't bother me that much. And if there's one cruise I'd choose to have an inside cabin, this would be it, because it's going up north, where it's not nearly as warm as the Caribbean, and you can't really go out and enjoy a nice warm night like you would there...so this is good. We only got this cabin cause there were no more outsides left, but it turned out good, and it was cheaper!

We went out and laid on the deck until it was time for the muster drill! It was surprisingly warm and nice on the deck, considering it was kinda overcast and cold at home.

We went to the Spa tour, and everyone except for me got a free sample massage!

Anyway, we explored the ship a little, and then came back to the cabin. The luggage had arrived, and we unpacked, and then got ready for dinner.

Dinner was good, out waiters names are Deni and Dewa. They were really fun. I had the Grilled Breast of Corn Fed Chicken. Always a favorite! It was very enjoyable.

After that, we went to the Welcome Aboard show, which had a comedian. It was pretty good.

Then Dan and I went to the casino, wandered around, and then had hamburgers and pizza, and headed to bed at about 1:30ish!

I'll be back with more updates soon!

Adios!
