"triumph day 2: day at sea"

Friday, 7/10/09

Hey Journal!

So Friday was our first Day at Sea! We got up around 9:00 and went to the breakfast in the Paris dining room in the back of the ship. Our waitress was a lady named Tatjana. She was wild, but very cool and nice. I had cereal, eggs, and sausage.

After breakfast, my mom and Dan's mom went to lay out on the deck. We went out also, but it was really cold. We came back to the rooms, and changed, I got my hoodie and all, and we laid outside for a while. I listened to my iPod and did a crossword puzzle and a sudoku and a crypotquote!

Then, Dan and I went to the spa and went in the sauna and the steam room. The sauna was hot, obviously, and after about 5 minutes, we had had enough. We left that, and went into the steam room. That was wild. I don't think I've ever been in a steam room before. We were in there for about 15 mins or so, and it was crazy. It wasn't super hot until you moved. Like, sitting there was okay, but then if you got up and walked, or if you waved your hand, it would feel like it was a million degrees! It was cool though.

After that we left the spa area, and went down to the hot tub in the back of the ship. It was nice, and they had the roof closed because it was a little windy. Some kids came in the hot tub shortly after, but they were immediately shooed out by a security guard because it was the "adults only" hot tub!

Then we went mini-golfing on deck 10. It's the strangest mini golf course. If you follow the paths that they have laid out, (which is the logical order of holes to play), the hole numbers are all crazy. It was very strange. I lost. One hole took me FOREVER, and I had like, a 34!

So, before I continue, I must make talk a little about the ship. It's a nice ship, and it's got some cool rooms, and cool designs, but there are many things about it that are "older" as opposed to the other ships we've been on. I think all of our other ships were built in 2003, 2004, and 2005. This one is 1999. The rooms are a little different, the handles on the closets in the bedrooms are a little weird, and the colors in the bathroom are all pink, as opposed to the blue/teal of the new ones. The hallways are also different. They don't have that same design. This ship is a lot like the liberty in the location of all the rooms, however there are little things that they tweaked, and things they added that are missing on this ship. I mean, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining about it, it's just a little obvious that it's an older ship.

Anyway, after we went mini golfing, Dan and I took a nap for about and hour, got up and got ready for dinner, and of course, tonight was the Captain's Cocktail Hour!

We got all dressed up and headed over there, had some free drinks, saw Captain Angelo Los, and then off to dinner. Dinner was very enjoyable, Dan and I were a little drunk so I don't remember too much.. I know I had the Flat Iron steak, and that we were talking to Tatjana every time she passed by (our waitress from Breakfast) and that Deni and Dewa sang.

After Dinner we went to the "Club Rio" Lounge to see the dirty comedy show. My mom left in the beginning because it was too dirty for her. Oh boy.

Then Dan and I walked around, we went outside, and then met up with my mom and Dan's mom in the casino for a little while.

We went to bed around 1ish!

That's all for now!
