"santa's little helpers in hershey"

Hey Journal!

Well, It's Monday... and time to recap another crazy and exciting weekend!!

Back to Friday...

I got up at the usual time and headed off to work. Diane didn't come in because of the whole swine flu thing! She couldn't bring her son to daycare because of it, so she stayed home with him. It worked out good, because noone here wanted to be in contact with the possible swine carrier!

I closed the days in the Golf Shop and F&B and got all caught up on that stuff, and the morning flew by! I had a lot to get finished, but I had to get going at 12:30.

When I got home, Dan had picked up Scott, and I gathered my stuff, and made sure I wasn't forgetting anything, and then we hit the road! Leaving a little earlier this time was so much better... we didn't hit any traffic at all! On the way, we made a very slight detour into the city and stopped at the Best Buy in Union Square. It was the Grand Opening of a brand new store, and Amy, who was a senior when I worked at BB is the General Manager of this store now! How amazing is that! She was always the best one to work with, and knew everything that was going on, and I couldn't imagine a better GM! Anyway, I was hoping to say Hi to her, but we walked around the store several times, and she was nowhere in sight. :(

Oh oh... and here's a weird one... As we were leaving and getting into the car at home, so were two people who live in the next set of doors down from us. So, as we're walking around Best Buy, Scott goes, "Isn't that your neighbors?" And sure enough, there they were!! SO WEIRD! How random is it that we were leaving at the exact same time, and going to the same Best Buy in the city! What are the chances!

So, our stop only lasted about 30 minutes and we were back on the road. We made excellent time, and let me tell you... we didn't pay ANY tolls getting out of NY! I think we should always do that! F that Verrazano and the $12 toll! TWELVE FREAKING DOLLARS TO CROSS ONE BRIDGE!! What trolls.

We took the Midtown tunnel. Much more cost effective.

It was nice, for most of the drive it was light out... so we actually had stuff to look at this time! We arrived around 6:15ish... and we had told Steve we were leaving much later... so we wanted to surprise him. Scott had called, and Steve was printing things in the BSC, so we went there but he was gone! Scott had a Santa hat on, Dan had reindeer antlers, and I had an elf hat!!! So we looked crazy walking around searching for Steve, with our funny hats! It was great. Sadly, we didn't know where the heck he was!! Then we went back to his building, and waited for somoene to open the door. We ran up to his room, but he wasn't there! GRR! So Scott called him again, and he said he was downstairs, but that he was going to the store.. so we went to his car, and it was still there. As we were heading down to the building, I saw someone walking down the stairs... and sure enough... it was him!! SURPRISE! lol

So, after that, Dan and I went to the store and bought some alc, but we never actually wound up drinking it. lol! We also went to Giant and I got a soup for a snack... which I ate the next day.

We went down to the lounge for International Night! Everyone made a bunch of different foods from different countries, and we did a little geography thing to see who could correctly name the most countries!

After that, we were pretty hungry for dinner, and we went to Texas Roadhouse in Lancaster! We called ahead, so we didn't have to wait at all.... though I'm not sure anyone else was waiting when we arrived.

We ordered... and while we waited for our food, we had the bread, and I got to play with the peanuts! haha. I don't even like eating them, just opening them up and making a mess!

It was taking a while for our food.. but not excessively long.... and our waitress came over to apologize that there was a mix up in the kitchen and the lost our check...so the food would take a little longer to come! Oops! Then a few minutes later, the manager came over to apologize to us, and she said, "I'm going to discount your check....just a little bit."

Then another manager lady came over a little while later and apologized again, and said "Don't worry... We'll take care of you."

I got a steak... it was yummy. I took home my leftovers, but never ate them! lol In the end, we wound up getting the Employee discount! It was worth it... it was like $12 off, so it came out to $3 each. It wasn't even THAT long of a wait... I was happy with it!

On the way back we stopped at Sonic and Dan, Steve, and Scott got Strawberry slushes! I was too full to even think about it, but now I wish I had gotten one!

When we got back to Steve's, we began CHRISTMAS DECORATION!! Woo Hoo! I wasn't i nthe Christmas mode before this weekend, but after all the Christmas stuff we did, I definitely am!!

First, we moved Steve's dresser to the other side of the room to make a spot for the tree near the window. Steve put up lights all around his room, and I helped by getting the adhesive attached to the hooks! Then his friend came over and wrapped his door in wrapping paper, while I wrapped boxes of Mallomars and a giant thing of paper towels to act as presents under the tree! After that, I started wrapping more things, like his Wii remote, a shoe, a pumpkin, and even his cell phone!! haha

It was great. Then we set up the tree, and got it all perked up, and then put some balls on it and all! It looked really nice!

After that we went out to look at the tree from the window, and to get our stuff from the car. We got to bed around 1:45am. At about 2:00 in the morning, just after I had fallen asleep... We were all woken by SOUNDS coming from the room next door!!! I can't even do justice by describing them! There was the steady sound of the bed banging against the wall every second or so, accompanied by loud high mitched moaning!! It wasn't sporadic.. it was just over and over and over again! It was UNBELIEVEABLE!

Scott was sooo pissed, he got up and went out in the hall, and BANGED sooooo loudly on the guy's door! Then it stopped... for about 5 minutes... and then PICKED RIGHT BACK UP!! INSANEEEEE!! Scott got up and banged on the wall, and then Steve screamed SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

Apparantly, this is the second night this week that this exact same thign happened. Steve was telling us about it earlier in the night, and even though it was exactly what he described... hearing it for myself was really something else!!

The next day it was the talk... since everyone on the floor (and even people below) had heard it too! Totally crazy!!!

SATURDAY

We got up around 10:30 on Saturday and got ready for some Christmas in Hershey fun!!! We had breakfast at the Marketplace. Mmmm. Everythign was really good, my only complaint is that I was soooo in the mood for Lucky Charms, and they didn't have any this time.

When we got back, I took a shower, and then we headed off to Hershey! We stopped at Giant to get discounted tickets! They were like $8.95 each.

We all had our hats on... Dan had reindeer antlers, I had an Elf hat, and Scott and Steve had Santa hats! We arrived, and first we went over to Chocolate World and went on the tour ride... then it was over to Hersheypark!

First, we went on the Reese's Extreme Cup Challenge, and of course THE CLAW!!!! Then we went over to the Pirate Ship thing. On the way over there, we saw our friend from the show last time...JDH!!! She was walking in and had a little bag with a "j." on it! We played it cool and decided to wait till the show to surprise her!!!

We met Jingles the reindeer, and he took Dan's antlers and didn't want to give them back! haha! It was amazing.

We went on the Frontier Flyers, which are so scary!! It feels like you could snap offa t any moment and go flying! Such a crazy ride. Then we went on the Monorail, and SkyView, and then it was time for the SHOW!!! Jennifer's show.. Home Sweet Home for Christmas!

When the cast came out in the beginning, they come in the middle of the auditorium and say hi to people as they make their way up to the stage... and she looked over and saw us all going crazy!!! She loved it!! HAHA!

The show was really good... it had lots of good Christmas songs, and it was fun! Afterwards, we went up to talk to her... we talked to her for about 20 mins! She asked us, "So you guys like productions?" We said Yes.. and she said, "I kinda figured!" lol!!

While we were up there, this crazy man came over and took our picture with JenniferDH. He gave us his business card... apparantly he is "the photo dude".

We told her we would be back later for another show! We went to the Kissing Tower, and walked around a little more. None of the roller coasters were open, so there wasn't as much to do as last time. We had a great time though!

In between shows we walked around, enjoyed the lights, and the Christmasness! We looked for Hershey Kiss, because I REALLY WANTED to meet one... but unfortunetly we didn't see any. We did get pictures with a York, Milk Duds, and a Hershey Bar.... and of course, as I said before... Jungles!!

Between shows we hung out with Steve's friend Christine who works at Hershey as well! We watched the light show, and then went back to the show for round two!! We were all shocked when the person who played the ltitle girl in the show was A DIFFERENT GIRL! It threw me off!

After the show we said our goodbyes to JDH, and then headed out for dinner!!! We were reallllly hungry since we hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast! We went to Houlihan's, and there was a 40 minute wait.... but we decided to stay and just walk around while we waited... so we walked around Chocolate Avenue and got some picture with the street signs! Then we made it back JUST as the buzzer started to go off! Perfect timing!

As we walked into the restaurant, everyone was looking at us with our hats! They all though we were crazy. We had comments from, "I didn't know it was Christmas yet!" and "Look! It's Santa's helpers!" and "I love your hat!" A lot of people just looked at smiled or laughed! People loved us. We were the coolest people in Hershey... no doubt!

Keeping with tradition, our waiter came over to tell us that there had been "a mistake in the kitchen with our check" and he had to come over and re take our orders! haha. Such weirdness! I got the meatloaf, and Dan got potroast, and we shared.

Towards the end of the meal, Dan put his antlers back on, and this table of women stitting behind is was like, "What's that all about!!!?!?!" and then I put on my Elf hat, and Scott and Steve broke out their Santas!! The ladies were looking at us like we were nuts... but they LOVED it!! They were so funny. Then before we left, we got a picture with them all! One of them made us redo the picture becuase she said she wasn't showing enough cleavage the first time!! So wild!!

When we got back to ETown, we hung around for a while.. The people down the hall were having a "social gathering" and it was pretty crazy! Lots of them came down and said hello to Steve and all. We wrapped a bulletin board in wrapping paper, and then watched 20/20 from when Rhianna was on talking about her craziness.

Then Steve went down the hall to say Hi to some people, and Dan, Scott, and I watched some ECTV news. Woah! It was craziness!

Dan and I got ready for bed around 1am, and Scott and Steve went to the dance. Dan and I were just getting ready to go to sleep when they got back, but then they went out for a walk.

SUNDAY

We got up Sunday morning and went over to the Marketplace for breakfast again! I ate soooo much for breakfast! It was really good! Then we went back to the room and packed up our stuff, and put it in the car.

We planned on going to the outlets in Lancaster, and since they were basically on the way home, we took two separate cars.

We walked around and perused all the stores... it was SUCH a beautiful day out!! It was about 70 degrees! Probably the last amazing day before it gets freezing cold! :(

We found some crazy stuff at a store called 5 Below... where, as you may imagine, items cost $5 or less! We got a "Match Game" DVD game... and while it could turn out to be really crappy...it looks like all they did was take scenes from the show... which may make it actually good!

We departed at 4:00, and headed home. On the way we saw a few horse and buggies! One of them was being driven...(if that's the right word)... by LITTLE KIDS!! (With bowl haircuts.) Insane! Then as we were driving we saw a bunch of little Amish children frolicking in a field! It was wild!

For Dinner we went to Cracker Barrel!!!! YAY! It was a great meal. I got the Chicken and Dumplings, as always, and Scott got his famous Grandpa Breakfast! There were some interesting people there... the ones seated next to us didn't even SPEAK to eachother... not once! Then this woman who worked there had possibly the largest butt I have ever seen.

Right next to the Cracker Barrel, there was a Best Buy, and I realized while we were eating that the New Super Mario Brothers Wii came out!! I had been counting down the days till I could get it, and then I totally forgot about it! Luckily, since it was right there, we just darted over there and got it!! WOO HOO! I haven't really had a chance to play it yet...but I am sooo excited for it!!

We made good time on the way home! We were home by 9:30 and I played a quick round of Mario...I couldn't resist! Then I took a shower, and got ready for bed ASAP!

I had a little soup before bed... Cup O Noodles...and then off to sleep at 11:30!!

Woo Hoo! Another fun and crazy E-Town/Hershey weekend! Christmas in Hershey!!!! The Sweetest Place on Earth!!
