"day at sea" or "formal night"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got a late start... opting to sleep a little later and get rested up! We got up around 10:30 and went to breakfast on the lido deck at 11. We had cereal, pancakes, sausage, etc.

After breakfast, we came back to the room, got changed and sunscreened up, and then we went out to find some chairs and lay in the sun. We layed out for a while and I listened to my iPod! It was very nice weather out. I have to re-teach myself that cruises are warm and sunny.... that one in the summer to Canada was freezing, and every time we went outside we had to bundle up! I forgot that you can go out at midnight and be warm as can be!

So, after that, we went in the luke-warm hot tub, which was actually perfect for today since we were hot, and needed a little cooloff, but not in the freezing pool! We watched the "Master Mixologist" contest, and then had lunch. We got the stir fry! It was pretty good.

Then headed off to the mian lounge for the Newlywed game! The people were funny... they did it a little differently than on other cruises... they had the husbands go into a different room, and answer the questions over a microphone... a little strange, but an interesting spin on it.

After that, we went to the gym and Dan and I used the elliptical for about 20 minutes. I went 1 mile, then switched over to the treadmill and did another 1/2 mile. Then I tried the ab chunch machine. I did a few of those, and then we headed back to the room.

I took a shower, and we got ready for our first FORMAL night! Woo Hoo!

Horrific news... They have DONE AWAY with the Captain's Cocktail Hour! NO FREE DRINKS FROM THE CAPTAIN! There should be a mutiny! What kind of cheap ass captain is this! Seriously, that's annoying, though.

So, we got all dressed up, went and took some pictures, and then headed off to dinner.

Our waitress is really nice, but she is still a little loopy, and made a few mistakes. Apparently, the kitchen ran out of the appetizer that Dan's dad ordered.. but they were making more... but she came over to the table to apologize and told him that she was so sorry, and that she gets "really emotional" about these things. LOL Wow!

When the waiters and waitresses sang this evening, she was a real powerful voice!

After dinner, we hurried over to the main lounge for the show! It was the New Orleans show... the same one we saw in July on the Triumph. It was REALLY good! I loved it, I think it's the best show I've seen on a ship. A few of the songs were kinda boring... but overall it was great. The kid working the board, Jack, was really into it. He was singing along, and movin to the beat. He was crazy.

Anyway, afterwards, we walked around the ship, and watched this really really old batty lady walk sitting in the lobby listening to the music, and she was bopping along, and spinning around in her chair. Dan's Dad said he saw her last night alone, and wanted to know what her deal was! He wanted to go try to strike up a conversation with her, and he went down there... but was unable to make contact. (He wimped out.)

Dan and I came back to the room to get changed, then did a few more laps around the ship to see what was going down! I lost $10 in the casino. :( We played Super Jackpot Party, and on my FIRST spin, I got the PARTY! And then on my first pick, I got the pooper! UNFAIR! Then I got a Party Saver, and on my next pick.. POOPER! Ridiculous! :(

So, now we're back here in the room, gotta get to sleep, it's 2am! Probably a later morning tomorrow, but we have a day at sea, and evening in San Juan, Puerto Rico! Nice!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
