"bbc tour" or "portobello road"

11:32pm GMT, 6:32pm EST

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 7:45am. It was slightly earlier than we had planned to arise, but we were rudely awoken by the fire alarm going off! And since this isn't a real HOTEL, there was noone here to fix it! So, it went off for 30 minutes straight before someone finally solved the problem.

Oh well, we got an early start to our day. I took a shower and then we took the tube to Wood Lane for our BBC Tour!

We had a little time before the tour, and hadn't eaten, so we went to this nice little place nearby and had a "full English breakfast" for just 5 pounds each. It was pretty good.

Then we hurried over to the BBC Television Centre for our our tour! We met in the lobby, then went through security. It was actually really interesting. We saw the BBC News Newsroom, and some sets of TV shows, and we got to play around with a weather "green screen." Then at the end, we went into a mock studio, and Dan and my job was to work in the control room! It was fun!

They gave us a cool BBC Tours pen for participating in the demonstration! :)

After that, we took the tube to Portobello Road! (Ahh.. memories of Bedknobs and Broomsticks!) We walked down the road looking at the stuff for sale, and then walked through Notting Hill and passed by all of these foreign embassies!

We made our way to a really nice park, and sat there a while just taking in the scenery. We continued our walk through Kensington, and saw Dan's old flat from when he was here in college. They turned the building into a Hostel now!

We had lunch at a nice cafe out on the street. Much to my surprise and enjoyment, it had free Wifi! :)

After lunch, we walked down to the Museum of Natural History. It was in a really nice building, and we saw the Dinosaur exhibit, and walked around. Then we went to Victoria and Alberts, which is an art museum. We walked around there, too.

We went to Harrods and checked that out, then went to Starbucks and Dan got a beverage. We took the tube to Piccadilly and walked around Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho.

After that, our feet were hurting, so we got on a bus, and took it wherever it was going. No real plans!

When we got off, we went from the Green Park station to Westminster.

We walked over Westminster Bridge and looked for dinner over there. We wound up in South Bank, and went to the Wellington Pub. I got lasagna!

We then took the tube from Waterloo to Westminster and went to see Big Ben at night! I got some good pictures of it, and even recorded it chiming.

We headed back, and went to Sainsbury's to get shampoo, and the herbal essence was on sale for 1.70! Pretty good sale!

We got the bus back to Central St, and then I took a shower, and now it's time for bed!

Tomorrow we're going to Oxford! We're taking a bus called the OxfordTube It should be a really nice time! Can't wait!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
