"lion dancing - the year of the rabit" or "toothbrush bracelets"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got an early start. I woke up around 8:30, and when we got out of bed, we watched TV and had I had some of my leftover Smokin' Al's for breakfast!

I took a shower, and then we watched "What Would You Do?" We watched the episode from two weeks ago, and then we watched part of last night's.

At about 1:30, Re came over, and we hung out here for a couple of minutes, and then went to get lunch at Panera. As we were walking in, I noticed Kristen, Don, and Kristen's mom pulling into the parking lot! They, too, were coming for the goodness of Panera. We waited for them, and rearranged the furniture to make a table for six!

We sat together and had our lunch. It was a fun time. We all received special treats from our "My Panera" card, and it was most enjoyable!

On the way out, Kristen's mom and I were standing by the door waiting for everyone else to get their coats on and get ready to go, and this manager guy came over and said to us, "Is this a parade?!" It was really weird.

After lunch, we parted company, and Re, Dan, and I went to drive by some apartments that Re was interested in. Then we went to Target, where Dan got some ice cream, and Re and I used the bathrooms. We also said Hi to Nicolas while we were there.

Next, we went to the mall and walked around. At 6:00, which is when Scott got off from work, we picked him up, and then went to Lotus East for LION DANCING!!!

Kristen and Don met us there, and we got a large round table in the middle of the room! It was pretty crowded for lion dancing! We were all very excited! At first, it seemed like our waiter might not have been in the best of moods, but then he really opened up towards the end! He spilled water onto Scott's lap, and he said, "IT'S EMPTY!!" and "Good catch!" Then he told us a story about how he had burnt his butt in the kitchen, and had to sleep on his side for two weeks!

He told us that this year there would only be one lion! Last year, there were three! That was a little disappointing, but we really did enjoy it still! The lion came out, and the drums started playing! It was amazing! The lion was FUNNY.. he was posing for pictures, putting his foot on the back of peoples' chairs, and he was pretending to eat people! He got Kristen and Don, and fortunately I was able to snap a quick picture of Don being attacked! It was grrrreat!!

Lion dancing is such a GREAT event! I can't believe it's been almost a full year since our first lion dancing experience. That was on February 20th, last year. So it actually is a few weeks earlier this year!

Unlike last year, however, we did not attempt to go curling afterwards!

After lion dancing, we had ne more pot of tea, and the teapot was so hot that while Scott was pouring it, he started to burn his finger, and then spilt tea all over the table!! While Scott was recovering, Kristen decided to make an attempt to pour our tea, but she had the same problem, and wound up spilling more tea! It was insane! We all felt the tea pot, and couldn't believe how burning hot it was!

So, when we were finished, we decided to go over and have some fun at Kristen and Don's. We dropped Re off at her car... She was parked in our parking lot. She wasn't feeling that good, and wanted to go home. Then, Dan, Scott, and I went to Waldbaum's to get some cookies to bring over.

We made a quick stop to get some plastic toothbrushes at Walgreens! In the process, we discovered a toothbrush called the "Large Dobson Head" which looks like a horse toothbrush! Who would ever buy such a thing!

When we arrived, Don started and EnviroLog fire, and then we got to work making our Toothbrush bracelets!! Kristen and I went for the bristle-less version, but everyone else left their bristles in. I'm still not convinced that bristles are better... I really like mine without! :P We had a fun time doing that, then had some cookies and milk.

When we arrived with our cookies, we learned that Kristen and Don had also stopped on the way home to buy cookies, and bought the exact same ones we did! :P

Then we played Apples to Apples, and hung out for a while!

We departed around 12:30, dropped Scott off at home, and I'm exhausted!!

Time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
