"oxford" or "this bus is under attack"

5/28/11 - 11:33pm Oxfordshire
5/28/11 - 6:33pm New York

Hey Journal!

Well, today was our last full day here in England! So sad! I can't believe our amazing vacation is coming to a close tomorrow, and we'll be taking the long flight back home! The flight is the part I'm looking forward to the least! Once the vacation is over, I just want to be home!

As much as it went by fast, and I can't believe it's time to go home already... it feels like we've been gone for MONTHS! I have forgotten all about work, and I don't want to go back and be reminded!

We got up this morning at about 9:30. It was nice to have a day where we got to sleep a litte later, so I wasn't extremely exhausted by the middle of the day! Also nice to sleep a little late one day during vacation just to relax a little! We went out for breakfast, and this morning they had set us up in the room across the hall which I guess is usually a little lounge/reading room. We had our usual breakfast, and then Dan paid for our room, and we got packed up a left.

We wound have stayed for a third night, but there was no availability, so we moved to a place down the road. We drove over there, and when we arrived the woman told us that our room wasn't ready yet, but we didn't mind because we were going to Oxford, we just wanted to come and get the key and stuff before we left.

Then, we took the bus to Oxford and started off by going to the Oxford Museum of the History of Science. It was kinda weird, but we walked around and checked out the place, and then went to the Pitt Museum, which was cooler, and had lots of radnom exhibits, which we enjoyed.

We spent the day in Oxford, walking around, going to stores, and walking around by the river. Then we went to a pub, Dan had a drink, and we hung out for a while.

When it was time to head back, we walked to the bus stop, and there was a bus there that was making a LOUD announcement, "This bus is under attack! Call 999" and there were loud sirens! The bus driver must have activated it by mistake because he was FRANTICALLY trying to turn it off, and he kept trying for a long time, and the whole time that insane noise was repeating over and over! It was HYSTERICAL! Eventually, he just started drivivng down the road with it still going, and that was even funnier! "This bus is under attack!" What the heck! So wild!

When we got back to the town, we walked around and explored some more, and then went to dinner at a place called The Windrush. We both got the Steak and Ale pie, and it came with "chips" and peas. There were these old people whoc came in shortly after us, and they were SOOOO cute! I loved them!

After that, we came across the street to our B&B, and I got ready for bed. Dan just went out for a walk, and I'm here getting ready for bed, and writing my Journal!

Tomorrow we're getting up early and heading off to London for one last hurrah before heading to the airport, and returning the car, and the LONG flight home. :(

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
