"wineries"

Hey Journal!

This morning we woke up around 10:30 and hung around the house, and watched some TV. Dan went out to McDonald's and got us some breakfast, and then we got ready to go out!

Dan's mom called and said they were going to go out east to some wineries today, so we decided to come along!

They picked us up, and off we went. We took the expressway to the end, and then looked at a map in a book that Dan's mom had. We stopped at the first winery we saw, and they did some tastings there. They didn't like the wine there very much, so we didn't stay long. It was also a horse farm, and we wanted to see the horses. The guy we spoke to told us we could go look at them, but then the "stable boy" chased us away! Apparently, we were supposed to only go up to the fence, but there weren't any horses there at all, so it didn't make sense!

Anyway, our next stop was at a Vodka distillery next door! It was really good, and possibly my favorite stop! (Maybe that's also because I don't like wine... but it was pretty cool!) We all took shots of the Vodka. They had Lime, Orange, Lemon, and regular. We got a free shot glass, too! Nice!

After that, we went to another winery, and after they tried the wine, we sat outside for lunch. They brought leftovers from last night's party, and unfortunately I didn't like the menu last night, and I still didn't like it today! :P

I was pretty hungry, but I was happy to find that there was a Harbe's farm a little down the road, in the direction we were headed, and I was really hoping for some roasted sweet corn! We got there, and sure enough, the corn was in supply! I got two ears of corn and polished them off fast! They were DELICIOUS! :) I could go for another one right now, even!

Next up, we made our final stop at a winery on the way back. It was called Martha Clara. What a horrible place! They service was SOOOO slow! They had tons of people milling around behind the bar, and they all ignored you as they did sidework like putting glasses away, and opening boxes of stuff, but not helping the people who were lined up at the bar waiting for help!

It was ridiculous! They were holding us hostage!

After that one, we headed home, and Dan and I were pretty tired, but we were also quite hungry. We were craving Pizza Hut and decided to go there for dinner. We got there at just the right time, because after we got our food, there was a mad rush, and every table was filled up! I'm sure it took them a while... it doesn't seem like they are prepared for big crowds!

In keeping with tradition, I always have an odd story to tell about The Hut. Today, luckily, there was no secret pepperoni... but there was a strange hint of cinnamon all over the crust of my pizza. Why? I do not know.

When we got home, I took a shower, and now it's time for bed! I know it's an early night... but I have to get up at 4:15 tomorrow for work! Crazy! Tomorrow is the biggest outing of the year, and as usual there will be WAY more cars than we have spaces for! So.. it should be a nice day, and I'll be outside the whole time! It's an interesting change of pace for a day! :P

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
