"jimmy's play"

Hey Journal!

I just woke up from a great night's sleep! We slept pretty late this morning because we didn't get home last night until about 2am, and we were exhausted!

So, yesterday morning, we got out of bed around 10:15 and watched some more of our new favorite show, Once Upon a Time! Then we got dressed and ready for a trip up to Rhode Island!

We have been driving so much lately on the weekends! It's crazy! But we really wanted to go up to see Jimmy's show, and it really isn't THAT far!

We left a little before 12 and made a stop to pick up Dan's dad's EZ Pass, and then to get bagels for breakfast before we hit the road! We stopped for gas, too, and by the time we got on the expressway, it was about 12:30. We made good time, and only hit a very little traffic in Connecticut. There was an accident on the highway, and we were actually about to avoid most of it by getting off the highway and taking a road that ran parallel to it for a few miles.

We arrived a little before 4 at Jimmy and Mike's! They had some other friends over, and we hung out at their house for a about 45 minutes. Then, Jimmy left to go prepare for his show, and Mike, Dan, me, and 6 others went out to dinner to a place called the Bull and Claw Tavern!

There was a little confusion at first as to what type of restaurant this was. Mike thought it was Italian, but his friend Eric thought it was barbecue! Then, as we arrived, I checked in on foursquare, and it said it was a seafood place! It did have a pretty extensive menu, so I guess it could have been both Italian and Seafood, but it definitely wasn't barbecue!

When Mike made the reservation, he was told that there was a special table for 9, and that if we had 9 people, we would get to sit at the special table! Unfortunately, they sat us somewhere else because they weren't busy, and that left us all wondering what this amazing special table really was!

We had a crazy waiter named Murray, and he couldn't remember who had ordered what! They also had a wild computer system, and it printed the receipt in big print, and as we passed it around, everyone was commenting on the abnormally large font!

I got the Chicken Pot Pie for dinner, and it was pretty good. I was torn between that and the linguine with meatballs, and even though I enjoyed my meal I'm not still not 100% sure if I made the right choice. I really have a craving for spaghetti!

Anyway, we finished eating around 6:40, and headed off to CCRI for Jimmy's play! We got our tickets, and Jimmy had a whole row reserved for his fans. :) We were in Row G which made no sense because any way you counted the rows, our row would not have been letter G!

Before the show started, the people sitting behind us were having some really weird conversation, and we all couldn't help but overhear it! It was very strange.

Anyway, the show was really good, and Jimmy was really good in it! He played the main character, and it was a whole bunch of short scenes about marriage. There were two couple who were followed though some stages of their relationship, and in the end, Jimmy's character winds up with the wife from the other relationship.

It was about an hour and a half long, and there was no intermission. Afterwards we hung out outside and waited for Jimmy, then we headed back to Jimmy and Mike's house!

We had some snacks and talked for a while, and then at about 10:45, we hit the road home! We had contemplated staying the night, but Dan wanted to get back because he had stuff to do today! So, we headed back on the 3 hour journey!

It wasn't a bad drive, I was just pretty tired! We had to stop for gas in Commack, which was a little annoying since we were SOOOO close to home, but we were so close to being on empty. So that means that the whole trip used one full tank of gas. Wild.

Anyway, we got home a few minutes after 2, brushed our teeth, got our PJs on, and flopped into bed! Phew!

Now, we're up and gonna watch a couple episodes of Once Upon a Time! I'm really dreading catching up on this show completely because then I'll have to wait a WEEK for a new episode! No fun!

Adios for now! :)
