"the return of 24"

Hey Journal!

Well, I bet you're all wondering how things are going with the house offer.... Last night we got a call that they had a "better offer" and we were asked to make our best and final offer. We decided that 415 was our limit considering how much work had to be done inside this house. (Also considering we can't move in until SEPTEMBER!!)

That was late last night, but I won't keep you waiting for the results... This afternoon, Dan heard from our agent who said that they decided to go with another offer, but wanted to keep us in mind in case that falls through (as in, if they can't get a mortgage, or if they back out before signing the contract.) They asked that we send over our mortgage pre-approval for them. What absolute shit! You think I want to be the second choice and sit around waiting for your first choice to bail on you?! AND you think I am now going to PROVE to you that I can get a mortgage? How about you picked us from the beginning and THEN I would have shown you my letter. Fuck you.

It's time to move on. The good part about this.... I don't care nearly as much as I did the first two times we made unsuccessful offers. I think that's for a combination of two reasons. Reason 1 being that we're just getting used to it. We know not to get too excited or too happy about any one house because the chances that we'll get it are slim. Reason 2 is that I wasn't madly in love with the layout of this house and it's not my preferred style... so whatever.

Anyway, I got up and headed to work early today because I had to get ready for the guy who was coming to teach the CPR class. I arrived at 8:30 and the guy was already there. He headed inside and started to set up and I got the TV ready for him so he could show his DVD.

He was a wild one... he's the CEO of the company and he was much more knowledgeable and a better teacher than ANY of the kids who have come in years past! He gave us the rundown on CPR, the defibrillator, and even gave us all a breath mint. (AKA Loomis mint!)

The class lasted much longer than it usually does, too. It started at 9 and went till about 11:30. Then, he stood around for a while talking. He was a nice guy, and interesting... but a few times he just went off on some wild tangents!

He made some jokes... a couple of times he made fun of Bill being "pregnant".... which I wouldn't have done. It was a little too far. He also made a joke when he was telling us that if a woman has a bra, you should leave it on because it will give you more room where you need to put the defibrillator pad. he was talking about the bra wire and then turned to Bill and said, "You may have to explain that to Brian..." And, I don't know if the joke was suppose to mean that I was young or something.... but I thought.. .how true... I have no idea about bras!

When the class was over, I headed downstairs and I had to get a lot of stuff done QUICKLY for the payroll.

It was a really busy day and I had a ton of stuff to get done. In the afternoon, I went upstairs and worked on the computer at the bar. They have been having some issues with accessing certain programs and after I fixed that, I wanted to upgrade the firmware on the router. I tried to do that, and it wouldn't come back online! I was going crazy trying to figure out why, and then I realized it said all the settings would be reset.... which made sense because it no longer had the static IP info or any of the other settings.

I got all that set back up and finished EXACTLY at 5:00.

I hurried home and watched the news and World News! You know, every night when Diane Sawyer says her "Goodnight," I always say it back to her! Is that creepy? Nooooo.

Tonight was also a pretty big deal because it was the RETURN of 24!!! I can't believe it's back. I was really excited to watch the show, and I'm sure I will watch the rest of this season.... but I keep thinking the same thing throughout the whole episode. Every time I see the clocks and boxes, every time they do something ridiculous, when I saw the CIA headquarters in an open warehouse with glass walls everywhere and their ridiculous over the top technology.... I was like "I can't believe this is happening again!" and "I thought I would never see this again!"

It's just so funny how this show is something from the past and something new at the same time. Of course Jack had some weird thing implanted in his hand. Of course he was there the save Chloe... and of course that ONE woman knew everything and she was being escorted out (they're always escorted out!) and then all hell broke loose!

The whole time, I just wanted the President to find out that Jack was around so that I could hear him said, "Jaaaaaccckkk!"

Oh boy.

Then, there was the last two minutes of the show when they made the big REVEAL! They showed the face of the woman who's plotting this season's attack. The funny part about it was that they revealed her as if she had been on the show before and we would all know her character... but it was Catelyn Stark from Game of Thrones!! I was shocked, and Twitter blew up with Catelyn Stark mentions... it was trending for a while!! It was crazyy! Didn't she learn her lesson about starting wars!? Look how the last one turned out for her!

Anyway, now it's time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
