"san diego" or "chula vista"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got up around 8:00 at our hotel in Laguna Beach! Dan was up first and he went to the lobby and got some cereal for breakfast. I got dressed and then we sat out on the balcony of the room overlooking the Pacific Ocean!

After having my cereal, we took a walk down to the beach. There was a steep walkway from the hotel to the beach. There wasn't much to do down there so we took a short walk. On the way, we passed a high school gym class having...a surfing class!! That's crazy... I guess it's the same as how I chose Project Adventure in gym... here they have the option to choose surfing. They were basically doing a relay race of surfing... it was wild.

We headed back up the hill to the hotel and then walked around the town a bit. Then we went back to our room, packed up, and headed to the car. When we tried to leave, we couldn't because a woman's truck had broken down right behind our car and she was blocking us in! We waited for a little while and eventually she got the car running long enough to move out of our way!

We hit the road and headed south. Again, we didn't have any solid plans so we just headed for La Jolla and then San Diego. We got lunch around 3:00 at Buca Di Beppo. I got chicken parm.

Next we went to Target to get something to drink in the car. I was super thirsty! I got some lemonade pouches and then we headed back to San Diego to watch the sunset at "sunset cliff."

The weather was great tonight so we drove with the top down. It was pretty cool... the view was amazing. We watched the sun set and then we headed to our hotel for the night.

We're staying at a place called Hercor Hotel which has the tagline..."Urban Boutique"... which I don't really understand! What is that supposed to mean? We got a great deal on Hotels Tonight. The rooms are a nice size and are pretty nice inside. The only downside to this hotel is that you can hear cars on the nearby highway! It's like living back on Route 111 all over again... only a little worse!

We got showered up and ready to go out for dinner. We met up with Thom, who I haven't seen since November of 2010! It's been 7 days short of four years!! Dan actually saw him more recently... this past summer when he was in San Diego for work! Anyway, we headed over to where he lives around 7:30 and then we walked to a restaurant nearby.

After dinner Dan and I headed back to our hotel and we were just in time to watch HTGAWM at 10:00! We didn't see tonight's Scandal, but at least we got one more show out of the way and we won't have a lot to catch up on when we return!

Now we're just getting ready for bed. Tomorrow we're going to go to the Paramount Studios tour back in LA, so we have to get up and head back north. Tomorrow is our last full day of the trip, so I'm happy we have something planned!
