"opening the pool" or "black lagoon"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up around 10:30 and it was actually a struggle to sleep that late! I had started to wake up a few times earlier but I forced myself to get some more sleep!

Dan went out to the bagel store and picked up some breakfast for us and then we caught up on some TV. We watched Beyond the Tank and then got ready to go to Target.

We had to make a run to stock up on food. We had nothing at all in the refrigerator and we needed milk and stuff to eat! On the way, we stopped at the pool store to look for a tool that you are supposed to use in order to take the pool cover off. Unfortunately, they didn't have it.

When we got home, we went out in the backyard to get start on our work! Dan started cutting some of the bushes in the back and I started to figure out the pool. I got all of the filter stuff hooked up and then it was time to take the cover off. We used a screwdriver to pop the hooks off of the patio and then we slowly dragged the cover off and spread it out on the driveway!

The pool was sooooo unbelievably green! It looked like the black lagoon! It was gross!

We got the filter going and then we cleaned up a little around the side of the pool and Dan did some more work on the bushes. Later, my mom stopped by to bring us some clothes that she had washed for us while we were away and she helped skim the pool, too.

Then, we went to the front and tried to fold up the cover. We really thought it was going to be a nightmare to fit this GIANT pool cover into this relatively small bag! I was not looking forward to it. We folded it over neatly a couple of times and then we rolled it up like a sleeping bag! It was unreal...it ACTUALLY fit and it was perfect on the first try! I was super-impressed!

Around 6:00, we headed inside and called it a day for the outside work! We really got a lot done, so that was nice!

We watched TV...starting with last night's episode of Game of Thrones!

Now it's time to get ready for bed.... I can't believe it's back to work tomorrow. It's as if we never left! I'm sure it's going to be a hectic day for me trying to get back into the swing of things and get caught up!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
