"the perils of selling a car"

Hey Journal!

This morning I got up for work and was soooo tired. I don't know... I had no will to get out of bed! Maybe it was because it was really rainy and crappy out.

I left for work at the usual time but as I got onto the Sagtikos I saw that the traffic was dead stopped! I did the cloverleaf and got myself out of there and back onto Jericho. I took the alternate route to work today.

It was a really quiet day at work today... nobody was coming in to golf and the office was pretty quiet because Steve didn't come in.

I got a lot of random stuff done today and did a little more cleaning up around the office but I just don't know where the day went! I can't recall what I did between when I arrived and when it was time to go home!

Well, I do remember a few things... Dan's dad brought in some old skeleton keys that he found at home and we put them for sale on eBay. I don't know if anyone is going to want them but we'll find out!

I also ordered the monthly postcard for May and for lunch I had pasta with marinara sauce.

Then, at 4:00, Dan came by to drop off his car. He had going in to work really early this morning for a trip to New Jersey for a meeting! As a result, he left work at 4:00 and came to the golf course. We went outside and took his licence plates off. It was a lot hard than it sounds...

The front plates came off easily but the back plates wouldn't budge! You literally could not turn the screw in either direction. We tried with a screwdriver and then with a wrench! It wouldn't budge. Finally we got it to turn the wrong way and it snapped off. It's not really that big of a deal that we broke the screws and we NEEDED to get the plates off!

After that we brought the car back to the end of the parking lot and left it there. I drove us home and now, tomorrow I will bring all the papers to the DMV to officially transfer it into Dan's name.

I can't believe that this car is being put out to pasture. We had it for over ten years and put over 180,000 miles on it! It took us to Montreal several times and on countless other trips. It was a very reliable car and I'm going to miss it. Of course, I'll still be able to see if every day!

We left work at 4:45 and as soon as we got home Dan went out for his walk. I showered up and then when Dan got back we wanted to go to Pepboys and Ruby Tuesday. We wanted to get a seat cover for the Prius because Dan takes the car to the gym and comes back all sweaty and gross. We figured this would be a good idea to keep the seat from getting funky. We found a coupon code online and saved 20% by pre-ordering online.

When we arrived at PepBoys, the order wasn't ready for pickup despite the email titled "Your Order is Ready for Pickup!" The girl was really nice, though, and helped us find the item. They only had one left and it was messed up so we had to order a different one. The "different" one was exactly the same but had a different SKU number. We did that, and then left with our goods.

Ruby Tuesday was right next door so we headed over. Tonight was their 44th anniversary so they were offering 44% off! A good deal but the place was mobbed! The wait was estimated to be 60 to 75 minutes! We left.

Instead, we went to Old Street Pub because I was craving the open turkey. I was a little disappointed though because I think their price has gone up. The reason I don't order this at the diner is that it is super-expensive and you get soup, a bunch of sides, and way too much food. But the diner price is more reasonable because you get a lot -- I just don't want a lot.

The Old Street open turkey is pretty small, just a little turkey, stuffing, and some mashed potatoes. Nowhere near as much food as a diner but the price is almost $17! It's a joke! Sadly that's another one I'm going to be crossing off my list... and I really liked it.

We got home around 8:15 and started watching our shows. We watched Walking Dead and we now have JUST TWO EPISODES left until we're done for a LONG TIME.

Next up we were planning to watch The Real O'Neals but it wasn't on! We watched tonight's SHIELD and now it's time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
