"rainy day, greene turtle"

Hey Journal!

This morning we slept until about 10:30 and I was glad to get a good night's sleep! Almost as soon as I got up we started getting ready to go over to Linda's house to go out to lunch and hang out.

We left the house around 11:15 and arrived there at 12. The original plan was to go watch Cameron's softball game at about 1:00 but it was a really rainy day and both of their games were cancelled.

We hung out at the house for a bit and Linda presented us with two gifts -- one was a horse sound effects maker and the other was a souvenir from their cruise, a ship christmas tree ornament! Dan suggests that he make it a necklace like Mama Dorothy!

For lunch we went to this place called The Greene Turtle which just opened recently nearby. I had never heard of it before but I think it's a chain. It's a cool place. Our waitress was absolutely nuts. She came over and introduced herself and then gave us a rundown of the menu -- and it went on FOREVER. It was almost like she was playing a game to see just how long she could go without us interrupting her. She was rattling off SO MANY THINGS and describing like every menu item. Then, when it seemed like she was done, she'd say..."SO what else... hmm.. Oh..." and go on about some other item!

I started laughing and trying to hold it back and, after discussing later, Linda was doing the same! Insanity!

It only ended because Linda interrupted to make her drink order!

When we were done with lunch, we went back to Linda's house because Dan had to go to work. We strayed in the car and then headed out to the stores.

Isabella came with us for this leg of our journey because Linda had to watch her while her brother was at work.

First we went to Michael's because Linda had to return some things she bought to make a banner for Connor's Little League team and she also had to buy glue sticks. While we were there, I found the wind-up caterpillar thing that Connor had stolen from the Michael's when he was with us...

I showed Linda what it was and then I went over to Connor and asked him if he remembered it. He got all clammed up but at least he didn't cry. I asked him a bunch of questions and he mumbled his responses. First, I asked him what happened to the one he took from the store and he said he didn't know. I asked him if he still had it and he said he didn't. Then I asked what he did with it, and he said he got rid of it. I asked where, and he said in the garbage. I asked if it was at our house, he said no. I asked if it was out at a store, he said no. Then he finally told me it was at his house. SO, when he got home from sleeping over our house he must have found the illicit caterpillar and disposed of it!! Sticky fingers!

Next up we went to Target! We made the rounds and perused the goods. After that, we went to Dairy Queen at Connor's request. We got Blizzards and we got two free by downloading their app and signing up for their rewards program!

We sat by the fireplace and ate our ice cream. Connor had been off the wall most of the day but Linda gave him his medicine when we got to Michael's. By the time we got to Dairy Queen it had kicked in and he was just sitting there not wild at all. It's amazing how that works and what a difference you can see!

At about 5:00, we headed back to Linda's and Dan and I departed and headed home. Dan was exhausted and ready to fall asleep. I was tired, too... but not quite as much as Dan was!

When we got home, we watched Beyond the Tank and then we took a shower and watched Game of Thrones!

Tonight was the second episode of this season and it was MUCH better than the first. The first was a boring episode to catch you up on where everything left off last season and this one actually MOVED. Some interesting stuff happened so I'm excited for next week's episode.

So, now it's time for bed and our weekend is over! It went by way too fast and now it's back to work and back to our usual routine! Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
