"lau's housewarming party"

Hey Journal!

Today was Lau's Housewarming Party and it was a super-fun time!

Dan and I got up this morning and we were happy to have the morning to relax and do things around the house. We watched Shameless and I did some laundry. We were planning to go in the pool and I wanted to get our bathing suits and towels washed!

Just before we were about to leave, my mom called to ask us to book a hotel room for her. She is up in Saratoga this weekend and, for whatever reason, she had looked up a hotel online before leaving but then didn't book it. When I went to look up availability, that hotel was completely booked for tonight. All of the other hotels near there were crazy expensive since it's race season so we found another one about 20 minutes south that looked really nice.

We booked it for her and then we hurried up to finish getting ready and head to Lau's house. We left at 1:30 and arrived just a few minutes after 2.

It was a beautiful day for a party! When we arrived, Robby and Phil were there and Jen B and Lisa arrived shortly after. We claimed a spot under one of the tents, in the shade, and we hung out there for most of the day.

JC was next to arrive and she came bearing gifts! On Wednesday when she came over I told her that I really liked her McVitie's tote bag and so, today, she brought a ton of them with her! She also brought a giant box filled with cookies for everyone. Dan and I took so many cookies -- luckily they don't expire till next June! Phew!

Re was very late to the party and everyone started to get worried. Jen B tried to contact her many times by text and by phone and nobody could get in touch with her. After about 2 hours, Jen B was afraid something had happened! However, this was not the case. She was just spending some quality time with a new suitor!

So, we all hung out, had food,and enjoyed the day! As it got dark, we played some lawn games and then the mosquitos really started to come out. They were starting to get annoying so we decided to head inside.

Everyone left around 10:00 or so and we hung out with Lau and Ryan until about 11:15!

When Dan and I got home, were showered up and now we're going to watch some more Shameless before bed! Until tomorrow...
