gingerbread houses and rubik's cubes

Hey Journal!

Tonight we had a really fun and festive evening of making gingerbread houses! JC invites u all over to her house and had gotten gingerbread house kits to decorate! The gang was all present... It was JC, Lau, Re, Jen B, Lisa, Dan, and me! When we first arrived, we had pizza.

We had a really fun night using all the candies to decorate out houses. Dan and I did a pretty good job and we used graham crackers as shingles for the roof! Jen B went all out made a very intricate scene. Lau was very creative and persistent with her use of gummy worms, Re hoarded the little gumdrops to cover the house, and JC used this shiny metallic-looking cooking spray that smelled like paint!

We had a lot of fun hanging out, eating our pizza, making our houses and enjoying eachother's company!

When we first arrived, Gilbert and Preston were out with Gil at Lowe's but later on they came back and hung out with us for a bit, too! Gilbert brought all of his Rubik's Cubes and we played with them for a while. He was super good at getting one side to be the same color but we were all having a lot of trouble getting more than that! He had a 2x2, 3x3, 5x5 AND a ball one! It was kinda crazy!

Rewind to the beginning of the day -- work was pretty good today. Nothing too intense went down.

The big event of the day was that the new Superintendent came in to meet with Steve and get a acquainted with everything a bit. After he met with Steve, he came down to the office and I talked to him for a little while. I gave him all of the paperwork he needed to fill out and everything he needed to get started.

He seems like a really nice guy and seems confident. I don't think he looked at all like a deer in the headlights so let's hope that's a good sign and we can expect an even better golf course next season! We'll just keep our fingers crossed!

Later in the day, we learned that one of the locker room guys passed away after having what was expected to be a small surgery.

I planned to leave work at 4:00 but there were a few things that came up at the last minute. Jackie informed me of yet another payroll mixup! This is getting ridiculous.... I hate all of these payroll mixups!

Anyway, as a result of getting everything settled, I didn't leave until 5:00.

Dan had gotten out of work early today so he was already home. When I got home, we got ready to go over to JC's!

We've come full circle... but I will say again that we had a really fun night and I'm glad we were all able to get together tonight! Dan and I are going to try to get something together for next week!
