"more needles and more cupping" or "pork sandwiches"

Hey Journal!

Today I had my second acupuncture appointment and I woke up with some sore feelings so I was hoping to see some good results today. When I arrived, I sat down briefly on a chair in the waiting room and then one of the Chinese ladies came out and said, "YOU-- Come here" So, I went in the back and I was in a different room than I had been in last time. She basically pointed at the table and I knew what to do. I put on the pointless gown and layed down. The doctor came in shortly after and I explained a little more about where my pain was. Instead of putting the needles down my leg like she did last time, she put them mostly in a big concentration around my inner thigh.

When she put some of them in, it HURT like wild. I was trying to figure out if she had hurt something new, or if she had found the spot where my pain was coming from. It felt like the same pain I usually feel just magnified by a LOT. She wiggled the needle around a bit and it felt crazy. I think that's a good sign. Then she left me and the other woman came back with the cigar-like object. I looked it up online and it's called moxibustion! They wave this thing around, it's an herb called Mugwort! I know... it's out of Harry Potter or something!

It felt really good while I was laying there for the next 30 minutes. The regular pain didn't hurt at all and I kept telling myself to relax. I feel like I keep tensing up my muscles in my leg without even thinking about it. I just had to keep focusing on relaxing.

When that was over, she came in to do the cupping. I love the cupping. She used three big cups this time and one tiny one. The tiny one fell off about 30 seconds after she left the room and I tried to get their attention, but had no luck. When she came back, I told her. She said, "It's okay."

I left and walked into a giant clock on the wall. I hit it with my shoulder.

Anyway, she wants to see me again on Monday. I don't know what to do because I actually think this is helping. It seems to be helping MORE than anything else i've done so far so I don't want to stop. It's just a little pricey.

I headed right to work after that and I was happy to have no pain until about 1pm! That's a pretty nice stretch. It did start to sneak back in after that but it never got too bad. I'm happy, but cautious. I've been down this road before.

Work was good today, I tried to get as much done as I could. Steve wasn't in today because he had a meeting at the cemetery. We're opening this weekend so we have a lot of things to do to get ready. Or, I should say, I have a lot of things to do to get ready.

I had the pork sandwich again for lunch today! It was sooo good! I loved it yesterday and it did not disappoint today, either.

I left work at about 4:45, stopped at the post office to drop something off, and then I headed home.

I heated up the water for my bath but then Dan came home and ran the hot water in the sink for a LONG time and wasted it all! UGH! I was so upset. I had to postpone my bath. Dan walked on the treadmill, then went to get dinner from Domino's, then we watched Walking Dead and THEN I took my bath and shower.

Right now, the pain is minimal and really feels like it's on the run. Like I said before -- I've been down this street before and I just am praying it's for real this time and not a dead-end!

Anyway, now we're going to start watching tonight's Major Crimes!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
