"birthday party sunday" or "7-11 runs"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up and headed right outside to finished up the yard work that we had started yesterday. It was a lot easier today, we had a lot less to do AND we weren't working outside in the rain!

Dan finished clearing off the areas that were left and then I put the grass seed down. We followed that up with some fertilizer for new lawns and then we moved on to the next order of business.

We filled up the sprayer thing, mixed the Wet and Forget, and then sprayed all around the deck. There were a LOT of unsightly green spots and we had to deal with them! Then we made our way around the front and sprayed the porch. There were green spots all along the edges where it always gets wet but never gets sun!

I came inside after that, around 12:00, and Dan stayed out to put the Weed and Feed on the lawn. I did some laundry and then had to do a little surgery on the laundry drying rack. The one we have in the basement, our original one, was not doing well. A couple of years ago, Dan broke it in a fit of rage and shortly after that I fixed it by gluing a little piece of wood to the two broken ends and then securing it with a couple of screws. It never really held properly, so tonight I took some pieces of our old bookcase and used them to make little splints! It worked really well, I screwed them in, and it seems to be holding! At least for now, anyway!

We left here at 1:00 and headed out. We were on our way to Linda's for Dan's 36th Birthday party. We stopped at Wendy's for some lunch since we hadn't eaten anything yet. We went inside and the line was INSANE. On top of that, the people who worked there were just walking around in circles and looked like they were just overwhelmed, so we left.

Next stop, Target. We got Dan a gift certificate for XBOX and then we went to Party City to get some balloons for Linda. She asked that we get big foil balloons that said DAN.

We stopped at a different Wendy's as we made our way out and I had a few nuggs and a chicken sandwich. I'm still mourning the loss of the spicy chicken nuggets.

The party didn't start until 3 but we arrived at 2:20. We walked down to 7-11 with Cameron because she said she needed to get sour cream. Dan and Cameron got the sour cream and I got a donut. I made sure not to sit on this one this time. When we got back, we found out that Cameron had gotten the order wrong! They needed CREAM CHEESE! Cameron faked crying that she got the order wrong and Linda told her she could get a Slurpee. She really layed that one on thick! Dan went back and they returned the wrong items and got the correct one.

On the way back with that, we were detoured and went to the liquor store with Linda. Then, we had to go back to 7-11 to get ice! So many trips to sevs!

The party was good, we hung out in the basement with Connor and played games and stuff most of the time. We hung out with Linda's mom, too. She talked to us for a while.

There was singing and cake and all that birthday goodness.

We left around 8:30 and headed home. When we got back, we showered up and then watched some TV. We started the first episodes of Season 3 of Better Call Saul!

Now it's time for bed! Until tomorrow...
