"all your eggs are belong to james"

Hey Journal!

Today we had a pretty full day... I got up around 10:30 and we left almost immediately for Linda's! We were going to spend the day over there and dye Easter eggs!

Linda was at church when we left so we stopped at McDonald's to get breakfast on the way. We stopped at the one a little further down on Jericho -- they are in the process of redoing the outside of the building and it looks like the inside was done recently, too. They had new touch screen ordering machines but Dan and I didn't see them until after we had already placed our order the old-fashioned way.

We were running a little early after that and we decided to stop at Eisenhower park to do some Pokemon hunting! I got a bunch of good ones, took a gym, and earned some coins. There were a ton of Mankeys about! There were also some real-life turtles hanging around the outside of the pond.

We were there for a little while and then we headed over to Linda's. We hung out, did some random stuff, and Dan and I helped put candy into the plastic Easter eggs for tomorrow's hunt! I decided that I would only put candies with wrappers that matched the color of the outside egg. So, all the pink eggs had pink candies, blue eggs had blue candies, etc. It was a great idea, if you ask me. We also sprinkled in some coins! Towards the end, we ran out of items so we filled one egg with ribbon, another with a tissue, and one with nothing in it! The trick egg!

Shortly after that, Cameron's friend James came over. I had heard a lot about James in the past so I was looking forward to putting a face to the name!

We set up the egg dying stuff at the kitchen table, and then they got right involved. Cameron was very quick to drop the eggs in and make a splash from the cups. Connor was very careful and wanted all of his eggs to be just right. James was busy claiming as many eggs as he could for himself! Cameron had one egg in one cup, Connor had one egg in another. Then James put eggs in all the remaining cups and claimed them as his own.

Throughout the rest of the activity, James kept claiming more and more eggs. At one point he had a whole dozen for himself and then I looked over a few minutes later and he had 18!

Connor was not a fan of this behavior. He called it out, but was quickly silenced by Linda. It's true, though.... James was quite the egg hoarder!

Cameron had really really dirty hands when we were finished.... like, DARK GREEN! She had to clean them in the bathroom with baking soda and vinegar! Eventually they looked PRETTY close to normal!

Later on we took a walk to 7-11 and I got a donut. I decided to save it for after lunch and I put it in the car. Then, we decided to go to Wendy's.

As we were getting out of the car at Wendy's, I realized I had been sitting on the donut! Yikes. It was flat as a pancake!

At Wendy's we got lunch -- I had the chicken nuggets, a chicken sandwich, and a baked potato. THis was the first time I've been to Wendy's since they did away with the spicy chicken nuggets. I was really sad about that -- they were so good!

When we were done eating, we went to a barber shop so Connor could get his hair cut. He was not very happy about it. First, he didn't want any hair style. He was dead set against anything other than "shorter." Linda told the guy to do a #1 on the sides and to make the top look "cool." She told them NOT to do a hard part because Connor was dead-set against it.

It took about 15 minutes and when it was over, Connor was not happy at all. I mean, first of all, he wasn't happy the whole time it was happening. He had this pouty sad face the whole time. He said, "I'm never getting my hair cut this short again!" I told him the #1 was short, but it was only on the sides and in LESS THAN A WEEK, it'll be much longer so he shouldn't worry about it.

He kept saying he looked ugly! Really, his haircut looked good -- but it wasn't anything really wild -- a pretty standard boys' haircut! He was being quite dramatic about it!

We finished up around 5:30 and Dan and I headed home from there. When we got back, we cleaned up a little around the house and then I took a bath with lavender epsom salt. I followed that up with a shower and then DAn and I began cooking dinner.

We made our famous chicken and rice casserole and Kristen came over to dine with us. She came around 7:30 and we were just putting the food into the oven. It needed about 50 minutes to cook so we passed the time with some drinks and by playing the music trivia game on the AppleTV! Wahoo.

As soon as dinner was ready we headed into the dining room to enjoy. It came out really good and we had two pieces of chicken left which I have saved for dinner later this week!

After dinner we retired to the parlor and Dan and Kristen wanted to sing karaoke songs. They did, and later we watched a few old game shows on TV.

Kristen headed out a little while ago and we're going to prepare for bed now!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
