"not as green" or "bring your own cup day"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got up around 9:30 and we got ready to go out to breakfast with Kristen. We were supposed to be collected at 10:00, but she got delayed and we left around 10:20or so.

We got to Relish and today, not only did we use our rewards, but we found out how the program works. It's kinda ridiculous, though .... you have to spend over $500 to get a measly reward! I guess we'll just keep giving our rewards number and see what happens!

Today was also BRING YOUR OWN CUP DAY at 7-11! It's weird because I feel like it moves around every year. Last year it was in August...how come it's in May now? I mean, I'd like it if it were in BOTH months! We deserve more BYOC!

I bought my usual erlenmeyer flask, dan brought a cup from Fat Tuesday and Kristen had a trusty milk bottle!

After we had procured our alternative vessel Slurpees, we headed over to Home Depot because Dan and I needed to check out some PVC pipe. This year we are planning to make a PVC pipe run for backwashing the pool. In the past we've used the weird blue hose but it got ripped in a few places last year and it's just a pain in the ass. It was expensive, too. So, the PVC pipe may be about the same price but it should last a lot longer!

We didn't get anything today but we wanted to get an idea of how long each pipe was and then come home and figure out how much we needed to buy.

We came home after that and opened the pool! We wanted to take the cover off a little earlier than last year in hopes that it wouldn't be AS bad. I mean, it may have been slightly less green. The one good thing I noticed is that I could actually see the bottom in the shallow end. In previous years it was so dark and thick that you couldn't even see a few inches down.

Once we had taken the cover off the pool, Dan dragged it out to the driveway and cleaned it off. I headed inside to do some work on the laundry.

After that we watched Judge Judy and then the two hour finale of Scandal.

At 6:45, we headed out to go to Re's apartment for her game night party! We hung out, had a good time, I had some Mike's Hards and we played some games. We played telestrations instead of Scrawl, and then we played some Outburst. Outburst was fun but everyone had a hard time reading the words on the little red decoder thing. It was complicated!

We departed around 1:00 and headed home! It was quite the late night considering that we have to get up super-early tomorrow morning! Now we're off to bed!
