"funds on hold" or "riling up the customers"

Hey Journal!

Today was an odd day at work because I didn't really get much work at all done today! I got up as usual and headed off to work, but it was all about Steve's closing.

Today he closed on the house that he's going to flip and we had to get everything prepared and ready!

I had some cereal for breakfast and then when Steve got back from lunch we went to the bank to get some bank checks. That was quite the ordeal!

First, we went to the teller who was in the process of looking up the accounts but then the bank manger lady had us come over to her desk. She was nice but a little crazy. She pulled up the accounts and couldn't find Steve's signature or information on file. What an order.

Then, once she verified the accounts, there wasn't enough money available in the account for the amount we needed! We had deposited a BANK CHECK yesterday and for some reason they put a hold on the funds and weren't allowing them to be used for a few days. It was insane. Steve tried to call our representative, but she was out to lunch or something. First, they said she was there...then they said she had just stepped out.

They said they were going to lift the hold on the funds but then they never did. As it got closer and closer to the closing, Steve just took the money from BHH instead.

At one point, Steve went out to his car to get his cell phone and when he did, the lady looked at me and said, "CS?" When I said yes, she said "Do you know the guy who comes in to do the deposits?" (Meaning Pete!) She said, "He always comes in here and starts yelling and gets all my customers riled up! You have to tell him to stop that." It was so embarrassing! BUt it was also amazing. Then, after we got all this sorted out, we were on line getting the bank checks and the people on line were yelling because it was taking us so long! So, we're not the only ones who make a scene, apparently.

Once that was all settled, Steve dropped me back off at work and then he headed to the closing. I finished some stuff up in the office and left around 5:00.

On the way home I brought a deposit to the bank and then Dan and I watched last night's Better Call Saul! It was a good episode. We watched the news after that, I showered up, and then we watched The Middle!

Now it's time for bed... Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
