"raids" or "beer bar"

Hey Journal!

Today was kind of a crappy day overall but we did do some fun stuff and kept occupied on our last day in SLC.

We got up and headed out to breakfast. We decided to go to the same place we went to yesterday because we enjoyed it but sadly it was not nearly as good. The waitress was a mess, the food wasn't as good, and so we were a bit disappointed!

After breakfast we walked around downtown Salt Lake City and checked out the Mormon temple and other things nearby!

We booked an escape room for the evening and we went back to the hotel to go swimming. We went in the pool and hot tub at the hotel. It was nice and relaxing.

We did a little packing for tomorrow, showered up, and then took a Lyft to the downtown area for dinner.

We went to Buca Di Beppo for dinner and got the Spicy Sausage Bolognese! We bought a gift card online and saved 20%! Great deal! The food was good but the sausage wasn't really spicy!

Anyway, after we ate we walked towards the escape room. It was a different one than we had done yesterday... a different company.

On the way, I got a Pokémon gym raid paas! I was so excited to try it out and there was a gym right near the escape room that had a raid starting! We got over there and there were two other people there. One guy was clearly running to get there in time and then a woman was sitting there and I totally didn't think she was playing PGo. She said, "are you here for the raid?" It was so wild. Anyway, it started and we had to all fight a powerful electabuzz. We won and then we had a chance to catch it. I got seven chances but I failed. It's okay though because I already have two, I would have been upset if it were a new Pokémon!

Anyway, when that was done we had some time to kill and we went to a clothes store across the way. We were the only ones in the store and the two people working there started talking to us. The guy asked what we were going in SLC and the girl was telling us all about how she drank heavily in high school!

We left to go to the escape room and checked in. We were paired with a group of six and then two groups of two!

The theme was Treasure Island. The room was just okay. The one we did yesterday was a million times better! This one was just too disjointed and I don't even really feel like I know what went on for most of the time. Everyone was working on separate things and it was just too confusing and all over the place.

The worst part was that in the beginning they had this little show, pointless, and had nothing to do with the game, where one guy shot another guy in the hallway. The problem was that the gunshot was UNBELIEVABLY LOUD! I think it may be the loudest noise I've ever heard given the proximity. Immediately my right ear started to ring and hurt. It stopped ringing shortly after but it still hurts every now and then and it feels "cloudy." It doesn't seem like I can't hear -- it just seems weird.

I just want to know why shit always happens to me. If something is going to go wrong, why does it ALWAYS have to happen to me!

Anyway, like I said, the escape room itself was lame.

When we finished with that, we walked down the street to a place Dan had found online called Beer Bar to get a drink. It was a nice place... it had long picnic table benches and they had games to play like Guess Who and Battleship around on all the tables.

Dan and I got a drink and sat down to play some Guess Who. After a while, a birthday party group came in and sat down next to us. We talked to them a bit, and then struck up a conversation with one of the girls there named Courtney, nickname Came. They were there for Mia's birthday and they seemed like a fun bunch. They were roller derby-ers!

We hung out there for a little while and then we headed back to the hotel. We called a Lyft for that and we were picked up by this young guy from Nepal.

We talked to him for most of the ride and he explained that he's here studying and loves America but when he's done with his degree he's going to go back to help the people of Nepal. He also almost hit a git on a motorcycle while he was driving us to our destination.

When we got to the hotel, we got ready for bed and now we're off to sleep.

Tomorrow we're headed home! It's been a fun trip and now it's time to head back!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
