"party for aunt chickie" or "game of thrones returns"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got up around 9:00 and had some time to watch a little TV before heading out for the big party at Aunt Chickie's.

My mom arrived with Jerry at about 9:50 and we loaded up the car and got ready to go. We hit the road at 10 and stopped at McDonald's in East Northport to get some breakfast. I wasn't really very hungry so I just got a hash brown and Dan got an Egg McMuffin.

We didn't really hit much traffic on the way there but we did divert to take the Whitestone Bridge because there was a lot of traffic on the Throgs Neck!

We had a little time to kill before the party and so we took a quick walk down by the water. No trip to Cold Spring is ever really complete without a stroll down Main Street and a trip through the underpass!

We didn't have long there but I did manage to place a Pokemon at a remote gym located somewhere where people don't go very often. Of course, with the new gym system that may not be as great as it sounds since I can only get 50 coins from it and have no idea when it will return.

We headed up to the fire department and then the party got started. It was a typical fire department party. We had food, then cake, and it was a nice time. Aunt Chickie was great, as usual but the only bad thing about these parties is that you don't really get to spend enough time with her! She's' in high demand!

The party ended around 4:00 and we headed back to take a walk down Main Street and by the river again. We stopped into a few antique stores, perused the goods, and then made our way down the street. We saw my Aunt Maureen and Uncle Joe walking down by the water and talked to them by the gazebo for a while.

The ride home wasn't bad as far as traffic goes. We made a quick stop at Dunkin' Donuts to get some cold drinks because it was really hot out! I got a Pink Lemonade Coolatta.

There wasn't much traffic and we arrived home at 7:43.

I took a shower and then we watched Parenthood. Tonight was the season premiere of Game of Thrones! I was quite excited for that... I didn't even remember it was happening until someone mentioned it yesterday at Jen B's house!

The episode was good and I'm excited to see what's coming next! Until tomorrow...
