Hey Journal!

Today was the Arianna's annual summer party! We have really come to see this as an annual summer tradition!

This morning we got up around 9:30 and watched some TV, relaxed around the house, and just kinda took it easy in preparation of a fun day ahead.

We finished watching Parenthood today and I feel very upset about it. I feel like the show ended well, it tied up most of the loose ends and everything ended in a satisfying way. I feel like they didn't make Zeke's death very emotional and they could have made it more of a thing. However, the one thing that really upsets me is that I want to see more. I actually feel like I want to know what each character is up to right now, as if they are real people and their lives are still going on. I guess that's how you know it was a good show.... It really was a great show... I'm so glad we watched it but I also still can't figure out how I had never heard of this show before in all the years it was on TV!

I had some cereal for breakfast and then we left here around 2:45.

The party officially started at 2:00 but we were running a little behind. On the way, Dan wanted to stop at the beer distributor to get a good beer and I wanted to stop at Wendy's because I was hungry again. I got a chicken sandwich.

When we arrived, we put on our bathing suits and went in the pool. Shawn and Caitlin were in the pool, and The Cube made it to yet another summer party! Owen was inside the cube and it was really funny -- he was playing inside the cube and we were all standing around it, watching him in the little windows. #CubeLife

This year's party doubled as a wedding celebration for Arianna and Brendan! They got married just a few weeks ago and had a small ceremony at city hall. After a few games of slap-a-hoe, they brought out the wedding cake...a carvel ice cream cake! It was actually an excellent choice of wedding cake!

We hung around, had a good time, and then we ended the night inside the house having leftover pasta and talking to Arianna's mom, Linda for quite a while! We were feeling a bit hungry and we headed inside to get a little leftovers, and one thing led to another and we were having a heart-to-heart conversation with her mom about Arizona, the South, Stuart Florida, Smithtown, race relations in America, homophobia, adoption, and so much more!

After that, we headed back outside for a bit and then decided to head home around 9:30. We said our goodbyes and then got in the car. We had also been invited to Jen B's for a poker night and we decided to stop by and say hello and see everyone.

When we got there, they had just started their third hand of poker and we decided to just watched for a bit. We hung out for about a half hour or so and then we were both feeling pretty exhausted and headed on home.

Now we're home, showered up, and we just watched an episode of Judge Judy to give us sweet dreams before bed!

In the morning we're going to breakfast with Mike, and then we have a few things to do around the house in the afternoon but, overall, we're gonna try to take it easy.
