something died under the deck

Hey Journal!

This morning I got up around 9:30 and we had to hurry to get ready to go to breakfast at Relish with Mike. We arrived at 10:00 on the dot, parked, and then headed inside. There was about a 15 minute wait, so we stood outside and caught up with Mike.

Breakfast was okay, as far as the food goes... I decided on the challah bread french toast because I am sick of the eggs, potatoes, and stuff being overcooked and dry. Of course, the french toast was mushy and weird. It was gelatinous!

We had a good time with Mike, though, and he filled us in on stuff with his work and their new house. Hopefully we can get together soon and see the new house.

After breakfast, we headed over to say hello to my Grandma and Grandpa. When we arrived, Grandpa was out in the sunroom just sitting and taking in the breeze. We hung out there for a while with him and then went inside to find my grandma.

We headed back out to the sunroom, talked about the eclipse, and then my Aunt Regina came over and we talked to her for a while.

We headed home after that and went in the backyard to take the robot out of the pool. This year we have been putting the robot in and running the filter and shocking the pool but we never go in it! It's ridiculous!

Anyway, while we were out there we smelled something really bad and saw a bunch of flies swarming around by the deck. After some investigation, we realized that something had died under the deck and was causing a horrible stench.

We tried to look underneath with a flashlight, and our phone flashlights, but we couldn't see anything. There are a lot of pieces of wood holding the deck up and it's such a small space, we weren't able to get a good look. We decided that we'll just have to let it decay on its own... but it's pretty gross!

After we headed inside, we started watching the new season of House of Cards! Now that we're done with Parenthood, we finally have the time for it.

For dinner we ordered Domino's and went to pick it up. There was a crazy long wait tonight! Usually it says it will be ready in 10 minutes but today it said 38! Unfortunately, I didn't see that until we were already there. The lady working there told Dan that someone didn't come to work and that has backed everything up!

Eventually we got our pizza, headed home, and ate while we watched Judge Judy. Then, it was time for Game of Thrones!

Tonight's episode was pretty good... I didn't see that coming at the end with the dragon! I thought that was pretty crazy. I'm excited for next week's episode but also irritated that after this one, we have to wait a year! JUST when I was getting back into the swing of things and remembered what was going on, now i have to wait a year and forge it all all over again!

Now it's time for bed!
