"hanging out with shawn and owen"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got up around 9:30 and watched some TV before going out to hang out with Shawn and Owen for the day!

We left home around 12:00 and headed over to Shawn's house. I made some stops along the way to take care of some important Pokemon Go business and when we arrived at about 12:30, Owen was just waking up from a nap.

This was the first time that I had seem Shawn and Caitlin's house so I got the grand tour! After that, we headed out to get some lunch. We decided to go to Applebee's and then to Buy Buy Baby because Dan and I needed to get a baby shower gift for Lau!

Lunch was good, Shawn and I did the 2 for 20 (26 because we both got the +3 meals!)

As planned, after we ate we went over to Buy Buy Baby and we got Lau's registry! Shawn offered his expertise with Owen in picking something that Lau would really like and need! We didn't really have anything in mind when we went in, so we were open to any suggestions. Shawn immediately saw one item on the list that he super-highly recommended. He said that he and Caitlin loved this thing so much and that they have since lent it out to two other people who have also lived it so much!

It's called the Rock and Play and Shawn says it's amazing. With a glowing recommendation like that, we were sold and I really hope Lau loves it as much as they did!

I wrapped the present there but as I was wrapping it, Shawn noticed that the box was a little damaged. We went back to look for a replacement but they didn't have any more. Instead, we are going to order another one online and then return the original one.

After our shopping was complete, we headed back towards Huntington with the goal of participating in some Pokemon Go Raids! Shawn was saying that he often has trouble finding raids and so we went out looking for some groups.

We got to one that had just recently started in Huntington but there was nobody in sight. Maybe we should have waited, but instead we went over to Northport. It was really busy there and lots of people were playing. We could tell because every time we'd take down a gym it would either be under attack again or filled up pretty quickly!

There were five gyms in a pretty close area and we were just waiting for a raid to start! We stayed there for over an hour and not ONE raid popped up. That's really weird. It was also very unfortunate because if one had popped up, there would have been so many people to participate!

In the end, we wound up doing one Quilava raid and then headed back because Shawn had to get ready for a party he was going to later on.

Dan and I headed back home and got back around 6:00. We showered up and then watched some Teen Wolf and hung out around the house.

Now it's about time for bed. We have the big extravaganza in the morning so we'll need a good night's sleep for all the craziness!
