Happy New Year, 2006

Hey Journal!!

So, my first official entry of the new year!! Very cool...However, It's actually my New Year's Eve entry...

Yesterday, I got up and started my day pretty late. I finally got ready to go out, and drove over to Dan's.

We hung out there for a while...watched some West Wing, I believe.. and then we activated his Sirius Radio. The man, Ron, never called back to help us sort out the problem with the activation fee and the subscription stuff, but we needed to activate in order to send away for the rebate, so we figured we could work it out later, if and when he actually calls back.

We activate the radio, and then listened to all of the wild stations it has. It is really cool. I enjoyed.

After that, we went over to Sam's house for a bit! We stayed there for about two hours! It was fun times, Sam played her Bamboo flute, and the piano, and we sat on the floor and had a mini-powwow, then we played with the curly streamer things.. all was fun!

We departed Sam's, and stopped at 7-11 to get some ice cream. As we were stopped there, a bajillion fire trucks went whizzing by, and so we decided to go down that way and see if we could see what was going on. We went down Edgewood, which is where they were headed, and then I saw a car pull down a side street, and I had a hunch he was following them, too... so we followed him. Sure enough, that's where they all were. There was a house with humongous flames coming out of it! It was insane! We watched for a little while, but we couldn't see much because it was at the bottom of a slight hill, and the fire trucks were all parked in the way. It was wild though. The whole house looked like it was on fire. How horrible is that! The smoke started to shift toward us, and we headed back up the hill.. then departed.

Before midnight, we watched Dick Clark's show, and he was back this year, after his absence last year due to his stroke. His first time back on was a little shaky though.. he had a very hard time talking, and pronouncing words correctly, and it seemed very sad. I thought they rushed him back too soon, however, it was nice that he was back, and maybe he really WANTEED to be back. Maybe it helps him get better to get back, to try to do what he always did. I dunno.

We also watched Regis who was on channel 5. It was a little weird, but good.

And then, 5,4,3,2,1...It was 2006!

Of course, there was an extra second added to 2005. So apparently the clocks really read 11:59:60, and then 12:00:00. A LEAP second was added to world clocks. Very wild.

So, yes, then we watched one of the best movies ever, Newsies!! Dan enjoyed it very much, since it was his first time seeing it.. and more me, it brought back many enjoyable memories!!

So, that was my New Year's Eve!!

Now I am home, and the cousins are coming over for dinner later, so I'll update later! :)

Adios for now. :)
