"cruise: day 5" or "ocho rios, jamaica"

Hey Journal!

Today we were in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. "No Problem" "ey Mon" "irie"

Dan and I had an excursion this morning to Brimmer Hall and Dunn's river falls, and we had to get up at 7:15! Way too early for having gone to bed at 2am last night! LOL

We got up, got ready, and went out to the buffet. We ate breakfast and then proceeded off the boat. We waited in line and then got on a bus, where our tour guide Josseth and bus driver Scottie, took us to Brimmer Hall. Josseth was really nice, she was funny... but the bus ride was loooong. It took an hour to get there, and the houses and buildings were all run down shacks. It was wild. When we arrived, we got on these wagon type things, which had seats, and took a little tour of the plantation, saw some banana trees, cocoa beans, etc. It was fun, but not incredible. The bus ride back was lonnng. The roads all have pot holes and they people DRIVE LIKE LUNATICS. They drive on whatever side of the road they feel like, and however fast they feel like. It was INSANE. It took another hour back, and I think I fell asleep for a bit of it. The lady said a few funny things on the way... "The price of gas is 4.00 per gallon, but we say Noooo Problem." and "Nobody screams unless the driver screams first!"

They took us to Dunn's River Falls, and as soon as we got there, it started to rain. It poured for about four minutes, and luckily it passed very quickly. This place was really fun. We walked up this HUGE waterfall, and it was kinda slippery and hard to do at first. We made our way up, and we got a bunch of pictures. The tour guide.. Norman McBean... held my camera and took pics of us the whole way up!

When we were finished, the bus took us back to the dock, and we bought a bottle of Vodka to bring back on the ship. We were a little afraid of being able to take it on board with us, but we had no problem at all! :) That should save us some serious money on alc... now we can make our own drinks!

After we got back we came to the room quickly, and immediately wanted to go to the buffet, because we hadn't eaten since breakfast. On the way, we saw them doing Trivia in the Grand Bar, and so we joined. We played with these two older couples... and it was funny. Today was so weird. All answers were either RIGHT or LEFT, but the questions were stupid. First, she didn't speak English well, and no one understood what she meant...example, "On the paining the "Chalitza" which of her hands is on top?" Well it took us about 3 mins to realize she meant the MONA LISA! Then "On a playing card, which way to the red face cards face." We didn't know if they meant which way are THEY facing, or which side of the CAR do they face!! "Which way do you look first when Crossing the street?" "IN WHICH COUNTRY!?" "England"... LOL they were all funny.. but I'll stop there...

We bumped into the rest of the gang at the buffet, and we ate lunch with them. After that,
we headed back here, and on the way we saw Tyler in the main lounge... We talked to him for a bit, he told us he went to Dunn's River, and then to a rain-forest. We told him about our day, and then departed to rest for the afternoon.

We got back to the room and I took a shower while Dan napped. The ship left at 5:30 from Jamaica. No Problem, mon. Dan wouldn't get up at the appropriate time, and I was ready to go, so I went to the Lido Maratea and played on the chair as it was just getting dark.

After that, Dan woke up and got ready and we hung out in the main lounge for a little while before dinner. At 8:15 we proceeded to dinner, and tonight was TROPICAL NIGHT! The food was good, I had a really enjoyable and large steak, and of course, a baked potato. The waiters did another dance for us, it was very very fun! I loved the song... called...Bom Ba..or something. "Bom Ba Ba...Sexy" or something, it says.

After dinner, Dan and I looked for Tyler in the piano area in the main lounge, but he wasn't there... hopefully we'll get to hang out tomorrow. We went to the casino, walked around, and then went to the Tropical Night party out on Deck 9. It was willld.. so much cheezy dancing! After watching for a while, Dan and I joined... it was soooo funny! I enjoyed thoroughly.

Then we went back to the casino and watched Dan's mom and dad play some slots and routes, and then did a few laps around the ship..and here we are. We just ordered breakfast to our room tomorrow, we have to get up at 7am!! Waaay too early.. We aren't even gonna get six hours tonight!

Oh well, should be fun times in Grand Cayman tomorrow, swimming with the stingrays.. Also, Tomorrow is Dan's Birthday!! Happy 24th Birthday, tomorrow! The lady in the Grand Bar Salento already gave him a birthday hug! haha.

Hmm... so Tomorrow we want to have fun and do something exciting for Dan's birthday...perhaps some drinking with Tyler. We snuck a bottle of Vodka back onto the ship, as I said before!

Alright...that's all for tonight... Bed time...

Goodnight. :)
