"kristen, don, ben, and poonsis" or "saturday in DC"

Hey Journal!!

Wow, what a crazy two days! VERY FUN, but very crazy! Tonight I'm gonna fill you in on yesterday's activities.. and then tomorrow during work I'll probably update you on today!

Okay, so let's go back to Saturday morning!! Dan and I got up at 6:15, got ready, and departed at 7:00 for our trip!

We made pretty good time, and stopped only once at the Molly Pitcher service area on the Jersey Turnpike. We got to Kristen and Don's apartment at about 12:00! They gave us the grand tour, and Don's brother was there as well. The apartment was very nice...I thought it was the perfect size, and it was in a very nice complex. They have a nice Christmas tree with a train that goes around the bottom! So fun! We had breakfast...Pancakes and Sausage.. and then took the Metro from Dunn-Loring (Spelling..not sure..and too tired to check..) to the Smithsonian and then walked up the mall towards the Capitol. We saw the Congressional Christmas tree.

Then we walked to Union Station to see this Norwegian Christmas display, but it really wasn't as exciting as it was cracked up to be. Still nice to see though, and then we went downstairs to eat at Johnny Rockets! I got a hamburger.

After that we took the Metro to Farragut North and walked to the White House. We took some pics, and then went around it to see the National Christmas Tree. It was kinda ugly, and looked all matted down...mostly because of the lights that were on it. It was kinda weird.. but they had a tree for every state and territory, all decorated nicely around it.. so that was call. They also had some cool trains.

After that, we went back to the Metro, and it was starting to get a little cold out. It was about 5:00, and we took the Metro back.. and then went back to Kristen's to hang out for a bit. I shaved, cause my face was feeling hot, and we watched the train go around the tree in the dark for a little while while Dan took a nap. LOL It was nice, very festive.

Then at 8:30, Dan and I met his roommate Ben and friend "Poonsis" (Mike) at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner! Dan hadn't seen Ben in over 2 1/2 years, so that was cool. We had a fun time at dinner. Our waitress was "Frandy" or Brandy, and she was nice, but a little slow. Ben made a few jokes that went completely over her head, and she gave him a blank stare. One was, after he ordered (not too much food), he said, "I'm eating for two." And she just stared at him, not knowing what to make of that. LOL

Anyway, we decided that we wanted to go bowling, so we went to Strike Bethesda, which we had wanted to go to when I was visiting in 2004, but I wasn't 21, and so we couldn't. So, we go there, and there's a two hour wait..so we leave, and search for another alley on Dan's phone. We pick one, and drive all the way there.. finally locate it.. but it's in a closed building, and looks REALLY sketchy! So...we looked for another one... it was in Riverdale, MD.. so we went there.. and we went in, and we were THE ONLY white people there.. NOT JOKING! lol It was a REALLY nice bowling alley, and there was no wait, so we went for it! We were next to these wild girls who were kinda funny.. they weren't great bowlers, but they were fun. LOL It was an experience the whole time. Mike aka Poonsis (no, i have no idea what that means or why they call him that), but he spilled beer on his jeans a few days ago, and so his jeans had all glowing splotches under the black light.. it was crazy!

We bowled two games, and we would have done more, but it was past midnight, and we were EXHAUSTED from the trip. I was doing good all day.. kept eating every time I got tired, and then I would get a second wind.. but by then we were soo sooo exhausted!

Anyway...after that we went to sleep...

So...right now I have to get to bed cause I have work tomorrow and I'm really tired.. so I will update you on today's events tomorrow! lol!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
